Wildlife Institute of – Category 2 Centre (WII-C2C) for World Natural Heritage Management and Training for the Asia and Pacific Region, under the auspices of UNESCO The Wildlife Institute of India – Category 2 Centre (WII-C2C), under the auspices of UNESCO, is integrally involved with the current Third Cycle of Periodic Reporting for Asia and the Pacific Region during 2020-2021. The Centre is providing technical support to the National Focal Point for Natural/Mixed Sites in India, for the purpose of fulfilling requirements of the Periodic Reporting Questionnaire. The Centre is further interacting closely with the Site Managers for completing Section-II of the Periodic Reporting Questionnaire for the respective properties. WII-C2C has conducted both orientation and capacity-building sessions for the Site Managers of Natural/Mixed World Heritage Sites in India which includes eight properties namely, Great Himalayan National Park Conservation Area, , Keoladeo National Park, Khangchendzonga National Park, Manas Wildlife Sanctuary, Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers National Parks, National Park, and . The sessions were held in virtual mode during October-December 2020, both collectively and with individual Site Managers. The key issues that required specific attention were the process of Periodic Reporting, identifying World Heritage attributes, understanding factors affecting property, and developing monitoring indicators. Based on its experiences, WII-C2C also offered to provide technical support to the wider Asia-Pacific community through the World Heritage Centre.
