Ioan Cosmescu is professor PhD, at Faculty of Economics Sciences, Department of Management- Marketing and Business Administration, “Lucian Blaga” University, Sibiu, Romania. The author is licensed in economy and doctor in economy, in the branch of the history of economic thinking, at Academia de Studii Economice in Bucharest (Economic Studies Academy Bucharest). He has worked at University of Missouri, Columbia, USA, The University of Nottingham, England, University of Rennes 1, , etc. He currently works at the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, and he teaches Introduction in Eco- nomics, The Economy of Branches, Service Economy, Tourism Economy, Management and Marketing, Leisure Economy, Business Travel and Events, etc. His most important scientific concerns are related to restructuring the conceptual-methodological in economic theory, the development factors of micro- and macro-economics, the perspective of the development of the tertiary sector (services). All these facts are made public in the various specialized books, in the published works of scientific conferences, in articles from journals and in the scientific studies of national or international research contracts. Professor Ioan Cosmescu is one of the founder members of the Institute of Administrative Sciences of Romania “Paul Negulescu,” member of the General Association of Economists from Romania (GAER), member of the Romanian Marketing Association (RMA). At the same time, professor Ioan Cosmescu is an active member of several scientific committees for different specialized journals (magazines), namely: Annals of the University of Petrosani-Economics, Valahian Journal of Economic Studies, etc.

Janusz Grabara is currently Vice-Dean and Director of Institute for Econometrics and Informat- ics at Faculty of Management, University of Czestochowa, Poland and DHL at University Valahia of Târgovişte. He was honored as Associated Professor in the field of informatics at Faculty of Electronics and Informatics of Technical University of Kosice in 2008. His research area is focused on information logistics systems and reverse logistics. He has participated in over 40 research projects conducted on order by Faculty of Management, Ministry of Higher Education and Information Technology, as well as General Board of Polish Post and also on direct order of electric power plant and Południowy Koncern Energetyczny, current cooperation with power plants. He has coauthored books, authored and coauthored over 120 articles in magazines and papers presented in domestic and international conferences (e.g. Tai- pei, Seoul, Santos, Bombay, London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Miskolc, Presov, Zilina, Toulouse, Quebec). He is the originator of numerous international contracts in Czestochowa University of Technology and Editor in Chief of Polish Journal of Management Studies.

Sebastian Kot is currently Vice Director of the Institute of Logistics and International Manage- ment. Between 2005 and 2008, he was head of Eurologistics Department, The Institute of Logistics and International Management; between 2004 and 2005, he was lecturer in the Institute of Logistics and International Management, Czestochowa University of Technology; and between 1999 and 2004, he was professor’s assistant, Department of Logistics, The Management Faculty, Czestochowa University of Technology. Currently, he is university professor and lectures on “Supply Chain Management” (in English) and “International Logistics.” Between 2004 and 2010, he was lecturer of “Supply Chain Man- agement” (in English), “International logistics,” “International Transport,” promoter of 40 masters and bachelors theses, coordinator and lecturer at the Miskolc University, Hungary within government agree- ment, coordinator of international cooperation with the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (UICEE), Melbourne, Australia, and Logistics Research Network, UK.

Maria Măcriş is a graduate of the University of Craiova, Romania, Faculty of Economic Sciences. She obtained her doctorate at the University of Craiova in the year 2009. In the period 1994 – 2005, the professor performed administrative activities at the University of Petrosani as Chief Accountant. She was the organizer and head of the financial-accounting activity of this institution, which is why she received numerous awards and recognitions. She has been part of the teaching staff of the University of Petrosani, Romania since 2005. Being a specialist in higher economic education and having a rich practice activ- ity, she has as main responsibilities of holding lectures and seminars, drawing up scientific researches, coordinating the development of students’ scientific works, as well as participating in the elaboration and implementation teams of some national and international grants of research and development. Her high scientific activity resulted in the achievement, as the author or co-author, of 14 books and university textbooks published by well-known publishing houses in Romania, as well as in the completion of more than 60 scientific papers edited in international magazines, at scientific conferences, round tables, and national or international seminars. She is a member of the Board of the Faculty of Sciences, Director of the program of Master Degree: Accounting and Audit and member of the professional association, General Association of the Economists from Romania. She was also part of the program committees of some international scientific conferences.

Mariana Man is a graduate of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania, Faculty of Planning and Economic Cybernetics. She obtained her doctorate in Economic Science, in 1998, from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. Between 2000 and 2008, Professor Mariana Man was the deputy dean of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Petroşani, and from 2008, she has been the manager of the “Center of Economic and Social Researches for Regional Development” of the University of Petroşani, Romania. From 2000, she has been publisher-in-chief of the of the international publica- tion Annals of the University of Petroşani - Economics. She is a valuable specialist and experienced researcher with numerous documentations in country and abroad. She has a rich practical history in superior economic education, being a professor in many universities. Her main activities and responsi- bilities are courses and seminars; scientific research-doctorate coordinator (at the Valahia University of Târgovişte, Romania); academic administration; coordination of scientific publications; consultant and trainer in the financial and accounting field. She is author or coauthor of 15 professional books published in the United States of America by IGI Global, in by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publish- ing, in Croatia by InTech, in Poland, Slovakia, and Romania; of 150 scientific papers in Romania and international journals; and in proceedings of international seminars and conferences. She is a member of different professional scientific structures and committees: expert accountant-member of the Body of Licensed Accountants and Accounting Experts in Romania; permanent expert evaluator-member of Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. For her scientific and organizational work, she has received a number of awards and distinctions.

Vladimir Modrak is professor and vice dean of Manufacturing Technologies of Technical University of Košice with a seat in Prešov (Slovakia). He obtained a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering at the same University in 1989. His research interests include manufacturing logistics, cellular manufacturing, and other related disciplines. Prof. Modrak is Vice-Editor in Chief of Siovak Journal on Manufacturing Engineering and editorial board member of several international journals. He also served as session chair and chairman at international conferences. He lectured as Visiting Professor at (), University of Applied Sciences Wildau (Germany), University of Czestochowa (Poland), and held seminars at the Keyworth Institute at the University of Leeds (UK), University of Salerno (Italy), and University of Perugia. Presently, he is also chairmen of the Commission for Doctoral Study in the field of Industrial Engineering. Prof. Modrak is co-author and editor of several books on manufacturing logistics, manufacturing technology, and other topics.

Jozef Novák-Marcinčin is professor and dean on Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies of Technical University of Košice with a seat in Prešov (Slovakia) in area of manufacturing engineering, computer-aided manufacturing technologies, virtual and augmented reality technologies, automation, and robotics. He acquired of title professor on Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies of Technical University of Košice with a seat in Prešov in branch Manufacturing Engineering in 2002. On the basis of a successful PhD thesis oriented to area of biomechanical robot end-effectors control, he obtained his PhD diploma in branch Manufacturing Machines and Devices on Faculty of Mechanical Engineer- ing of TU of Košice. He is head of many scientific collectives work on projects awarded by Scientific Grant Agency and Cultural and Education Grant Agency of Slovak Republic, Ministry of Education of Slovak Republic, and international projects supported by International Visegrad Fund, European Union (LLP, Tempus, Copernicus, Socrates-Erasmus, CEEPUS), etc. These projects are oriented in the area of virtual and augmented reality applications in the area of manufacturing, modern manufacturing systems, manufacturing automation, and computer support of manufacturing technologies. He is author or coauthor of four professional books, of more scientific papers in Slovak and international journals (USA, UK, Germany, France, , , Turkey, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania), and papers in proceedings of seminars and conferences.

Maria Nowicka-Skowron is a graduate of the University of Economics in Katowice. She has worked in Higher Education for over 30 years, after starting her career in industry in 1973-5. During her work at CUT, she has held the post of an assistant lecturer, assistant professor, and professor, respectively. Along- side her employment in CUT, she also delivered lectures at AGH University of Technology in Cracow (between 1995-2006). Between 1997 and 1999, Professor Nowicka-Skowron was the first Dean of the Faculty of Management, and in the years 1995-2005, she was Vice- for Science and Research. In 2005, she was re-elected Dean of the Faculty of Management for a three-year term. In 2008, Professor Nowicka-Skowron was elected to the post of CUT Rector. In 2012, she was elected again for the same position. She has also held national and international level roles, including Member of the Polish Acad- emy of Sciences, Poznan and Katowice Territorial Branches, and Member of the International Society for Inventory Research. She obtained her doctorate in 1981, post-doctoral degree (habilitation) in 1999, and professorship in 2002 from the University of Economics in Katowice. In 2002, she was awarded the title of Full Professor by the President of Poland. Professor Nowicka-Skowron is the author of over 170 scientific publications, including 6 monographs and over 60 papers published in highly reputable international journals. For her scientific and organizational work she received a number of awards and distinctions, among others, individual and collective awards conferred by the Minister of Higher Education. Between 1995 and 1998, she was a coordinator of the Tempus Programme and also actively participated in the Socrates Programme. She was a visiting researcher in numerous higher education institutions in Austria, Ireland, the USA, , and France.

Sorin Mihai Radu is a graduate of the Petrosani Mining Institute (actually University of Petrosani), Romania, Faculty of Mining Machines and Installations. She obtained the doctorate in Engineering, in 1998, from the University of Petrosani. Starting 1991 to 2004, Professor Radu Sorin Mihai was Director of European Projects, and between 2005-2010, she was Research Department Director. From 2010-2011, she was the deputy dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and since 2011, she is the Director of the Mechanical, Industrial, and Transportation Engineering at the Univer- sity of Petroşani. In 2009, Professor Radu Sorin Mihai activated as the Education General Inspector in Hunedoara County, Romania. She is a valuable specialist and experienced researcher with numerous documentations in Paris School of Mines (doctoral studies, 1990-1991), Institut National Politechnique de Loraine, Nancy, France (master 1996-1997). She has a rich practical activity in superior technical education, being a visiting professor in many universities from France, Hungary, Poland, Italy, etc. Her main activities and responsibilities are courses and seminars, scientific research – doctorate coordinator (at University of Petrosani, Romania), academic administration, coordination of scientific publications, consultant and trainer in the field of nonconventional technologies, environment and mining technolo- gies. She has a sustained scientific activity. She is author or co-author of 14 professional books published Romania and abroad, of more than 200 scientific papers in Romania and international journals and in proceedings of international seminars and conferences, of more than 70 national and international research grants, of 5 patents, awarded in Brussells, Belgium, and Budapest, Hungary. She is a member of different professional-scientific structures and committees: European Association for International Education; International Waterjet Association, permanent expert evaluator-member of Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, and member of the Romanian Council for Doctoral Studies and Titles in Higher Education. For her scientific and organizational work, she has received a number of awards and distinctions, among others, individual and collective awards conferred by universities from Romania, France, and Egypt.

Ion Stegăroiu is professor at “Valahia” University in Targoviste, with teaching experience of over 21 years, a professor since 2000 and with a PhD in Management since 2007. He served as Vice Dean between 1996 – 2000, as Vice Rector of the University between 2008 – 2012, and as Dean between 2000 – 2008 and in 2012. All these periods were marked by teaching and academic activities, by the coordination of scientific publications and the elaboration of courses and university textbooks, and by scientific research. He is also the author of 20 books published by different national and international publishers, books with a significant impact on the development of the management theory. His scientific activity is also completed by the publication with over 134 articles at various national and international conferences, for national and international journals, proceedings as Universiti Sains Malaysia Penang Malaysia; Budapest, Hun- gary; Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Lisbon, ; Istanbul, Turkey; University of Cambridge; Univ. Lusiada Vila Nova Famalicao, Portugal; Vouliagmeni, ; University Kaunas, Lithuania; Kaunas, Lithuania; and Belgrad. Dorina Tănăsescu is university professor, member of the Management-Marketing Department of the Faculty of Economics, Valahia University of Targoviste. She has skills in the field of marketing; from 2004 to 2012, she held the position of Head of Department and deputy head. She has a wide national and international recognition: Professor Emeritus – 2013 title conferred by AFER, member CEDIMES (Centre d’Etudes des Internationaux Mouvements économiques et sociaux) France, member AIELF (International Asociation of Langue Francaise des Economistes), member AROMAR (Romanian Asso- ciation for Marketing), from 2010 to 2012, founding member AGER – Targoviste subsidiary, from 2010 to 2012 was visiting professor to Komotini, Greece; 2003, 2007 scholarship of ARPF (I.U.T La Rochelle France); 1991,1992 – Socrates scholarship Dunkerque France 2004. She was member and coordinator to of 19 research projects. She is published as author and co-author of 19 books and 108 articles.
