US Steel Drum Band, Directed by Dr. Dan Grantham “Where's My Thing,” Rush, arr. Irvine Enjoy the unique Caribbean experience with CHCA’s Steel Drum Band. Playing on authentic Caribbean Steel Pan instruments, this ensemble has been wowing audiences with their Island tunes and popular music . When the sounds of soca, samba, reggae, calypso and jazz collide you know you are in the tropics!

Wyatt Elpers Gr 1 Solo - “Forest Drums,” Nancy Faber Wyatt is a second-year piano student with Mrs. Albus. When he is not playing the piano, he enjoys soccer and Legos.

Mika Slater Gr 2 String Solo - “Beauty and the Beast,” Alan Menken Mika is in Mrs. Griffin’s second grade class and has been playing the violin since kindergarten. She is a private student of Dr. Park and takes group class with Dr. Woodin. Her favorite subject is art. When she’s not practicing the violin, she enjoys playing a variety of sports.

Campbell Beshear, Olivia Grueter Gr 1 Vocal Duet – “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” These two friends love entertaining their families. They enjoy learning voice while building friendships with classmates through their shared love of music.

Zander Sivak Gr 1 Piano Solo – “Yankee Doodle” Zander is in Mrs. Lupia's first grade class. This is his third year studying piano under Dr. Takako Frautschi and his first year taking a duet class with Mrs. Hill. He also enjoys being outside, learning about the weather and playing with his puppy, Norah.

Jazz Dance Team - Level 3 Jenna Achterberg, Emma Gick-Baker, Claire Marcum, Elyse Rusnak, Aniston Southern, Natalie Wickler "Walking on Air," & Lester Mendez This piece, choreographed by Kiley Garland, uses intricate staging and uses more abstract and contemporary shapes to put a fresh twist on a jazz piece.

Amelia Swartz Gr 7 Piano Solo - “See You Again,” Charlie Puth Amelia is a seventh grader, and this is her first year at CHCA. She has been studying piano since she was five years old and enjoys recitals and an annual festival at Miami University. Her parents coax her to play for family and friends whenever they can.

FC String Orchestra Gr 5 “Lightly Row,” “Rocky Mountain,” “Lullaby,” all folk songs, arr. Crock, Dick and Scott The String Orchestra in Gr 5 is the entry ensemble to CHCA’s flourishing orchestra program. Most of the ensemble members are in their first year of playing an instrument and have made amazing advances in their skills. They will be sharing three of the songs they have learned this year.

Abby Cebulskie, Riley Cebulskie Gr 6, 12 Vocal and Ukulele Duet - “Stand by Me,” Ben E. King This is the first time this brother-sister pair will perform together for ArtBeat. They have always had a special bond and are excited to perform together on stage before Riley graduates this year. They dedicate their performance to God and their family.

Elyse Rusnak Gr 6 Piano Solo - “The Deserted Castle,” Timothy Brown Elyse Rusnak is in sixth grade and has been taking piano lessons at CHCA since kindergarten.

Kaitlyn Comstock Gr 8 Lyrical Solo - “Dancing on the Waves,” We the Kingdom Kaitlyn is an eighth grader and has a passion for dance. Dancing is one of the special ways she has found to worship God. She is also on CHCA’s competitive jazz and lyrical dance teams. In addition to dancing, she enjoyed being in the Flat Stanley JR. musical. She participates in choir, orchestra, the MathCounts team, and she is an officer in NJHS and student government. Kaitlyn hopes you will take a step to dance on the waves with her.

Lauren Osborne Kindergarten Vocal Solo – “I’m Gonna Sing, Sing, Sing” Lauren has loved music since the day she was born. She has taken piano lessons and is currently taking voice lessons, which she started in August. She loves school, the outdoors, animals, and spending time with friends and family.

Aubrey Butrum, Caylee Butrum, Reagan Butrum Gr 5, 12, 10 Trio - Canon in D, Pachelbel Caylee, a senior this year, picked Canon in D to play at her last ArtBeat with the Sister Trio. This is the very first song that she and her sister, Reagan, performed as the Butrum Sister Duet. The Duet has since become a Trio with the addition of youngest sister Aubrey. Caylee wanted to end her ArtBeat career with this timeless classic.

FC Choir Gr 6, Directed by Della Enns “Rhythm of Life,” Fields and Coleman, arr. Barnes The “Rhythm of Life” is a standard favorite in choral repertoire, featuring fun and fast-moving lyrics. These students decided to capitalize on the fun rhythms and add their own twist with student-created choreography and some basketball moves!
