New Records of Crustose Teloschistaceae (Lichens, Ascomycota) from the Murmansk Region of Russia
vol. 37, no. 3, pp. 421–434, 2016 doi: 10.1515/popore-2016-0022 New records of crustose Teloschistaceae (lichens, Ascomycota) from the Murmansk region of Russia Ivan FROLOV1* and Liudmila KONOREVA2,3 1 Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia, Branišovská 31, České Budějovice, CZ-37005, Czech Republic 2 Laboratory of Flora and Vegetations, The Polar-Alpine Botanical Garden and Institute KSC RAS, Kirovsk, Murmansk region, 184209, Russia 3 Laboratory of Lichenology and Bryology, Komarov Botanical Institute RAS, Professor Popov St. 2, St. Petersburg, 197376, Russia * corresponding author <[email protected]> Abstract: Twenty-three species of crustose Teloschistaceae were collected from the northwest of the Murmansk region of Russia during field trips in 2013 and 2015. Blas- tenia scabrosa is a new combination supported by molecular data. Blastenia scabrosa, Caloplaca fuscorufa and Flavoplaca havaasii are new to Russia. Blastenia scabrosa is also new to the Caucasus Mts and Sweden. Detailed morphological measurements of the Russian specimens of these species are provided. Caloplaca exsecuta, C. grimmiae and C. sorocarpa are new to the Murmansk region. The taxonomic position of C. alcarum is briefly discussed. Key words: Arctic, Rybachy Peninsula, Caloplaca s. lat., Blastenia scabrosa. Introduction Although the Murmansk region is one of the best studied regions of Russia in terms of lichen diversity, there are numerous reports in recent literature of new discoveries there (e.g. Fadeeva et al. 2013; Konoreva 2015; Melechin 2015; Urbanavichus 2015). Several localities in the northwest of the Murmansk region, mainly on the Pechenga Tundra Mountains and the Rybachy Peninsula, were visited in 2013 and 2015. -
The Effects of CSR Initiatives and CSR Communication on Customers’ Responses and Satisfaction
The effects of CSR initiatives and CSR communication on customers’ responses and satisfaction: A quantitative study examining Systembolaget’s CSR Authors: Emelie Marklund Martina Östergren Supervisor: Galina Biedenbach Student Umeå School of Business and Economics Spring semester 2015 Degree project, 30 hp ABSTRACT Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has lately grown to be a well-researched area and most companies engage in social responsibilities to some extent. It has been shown that companies’ CSR and CSR communication affects consumer responses. Some of these responses have also been seen to be affected by the customers’ level of support for CSR, and specific issues in particular, as well as their perceived fit between a company and a cause. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the impact CSR initiatives and CSR communication has on customers’ responses and satisfaction. Whether the customers are supportive of CSR and specific CSR issues will, along with the Perceived fit of the company and the cause, also be examined. The responses we will be examining are awareness, attitudes, attributions and perceptions. To make a practical contribution this will be executed in relation to the Government monopoly Systembolaget. This specific company does not work according to a profit maximizing motive but is depended on continued support from the Swedish population to be able to keep their mandate. Thus, they are also in need of satisfied customers and therefore the focus of this study will be on satisfaction related to the company’s CSR work. A research gap was detected, thus there are no previous research examining the factors employed in this research as a collective or of the specific company-context, i.e. -

Can You Predict a Hit?
CAN YOU PREDICT A HIT? FINDING POTENTIAL HIT SONGS THROUGH LAST.FM PREDICTORS BACHELOR THESIS MARVIN SMIT (0720798) DEPARTMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RADBOUD UNIVERSITEIT NIJMEGEN SUPERVISORS: DR. L.G. VUURPIJL DR. F. GROOTJEN Abstract In the field of Music Information Retrieval, studies on Hit Song Science are becoming more and more popular. The concept of predicting whether a song has the potential to become a hit song is an interesting challenge. This paper describes my research on how hit song predictors can be utilized to predict hit songs. Three subject groups of predictors were gathered from the Last.fm service, based on a selection of past hit songs from the record charts. By gathering new data from these predictors and using a term frequency-inversed document frequency algorithm on their listened tracks, I was able to determine which songs had the potential to become a hit song. The results showed that the predictors have a better sense on listening to potential hit songs in comparison to their corresponding control groups. Issue 128 JANUARY 11TH, 2021 Things change with time, as my very close friend likes to say. Here’s my New Year’s wish: that things change for the better in 2021. A new year brings new possibilities. We’re saddened by the loss of Gerry Marsden (78) of British Invasion legends Gerry and the Pacemakers. Their first single, “How Do You Do It,” hit number one on the British charts in 1963 – before the Beatles ever accomplished that feat – and they went on to have other smash records like “Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Crying,” You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “I Like It” and “Ferry Cross the Mersey.” These songs are woven not just into the fabric of the 1960s, but our lives. In this issue: Anne E. Johnson covers the career of John Legend and rediscovers 17th century composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Larry Schenbeck gets soul and takes on “what if?” Ken Sander goes Stateside with The Stranglers. J.I. Agnew locks in his lockdown music system. Tom Gibbs looks at new releases from Kraftwerk, Julia Stone and Max Richter. Adrian Wu continues his series on testing in audio. John Seetoo mines a mind-boggling mic collection. Jay Jay French remembers Mountain’s Leslie West. Dan Schwartz contemplates his streaming royalties. Steven Bryan Bieler ponders the new year. Ray Chelstowski notes that January’s a slow month for concerts – with a few monumental exceptions. Stuart Marvin examines how musicians and their audiences are adapting to the pandemic. I reminisce about hanging out with Les Paul. We round out the issue with single-minded listening, the world’s coolest multi-room audio system, mixed media, and a girl on a mission. -
