The conference is supported by the European Network of Excellence ENFIN. ENFIN develops infrastructure for data integration, bioinformatics tools and experimental assessments to enhance Systems Biology in Europe. The project addresses three fields of research i) discrete function prediction, ii) network reconstruction, iii) systems level modeling. One concept of the Network is the strong collaboration between dry and wet laboratories, which cycle data between computational predictions and experimental validations.

The ENFIN project is funded by the European Commission within its FP6 Programme, under the thematic area "Life sciences, and biotechnology for health", contract number LSHG-CT-2005-518254. ENFIN partners: E. Birney (EBI, UK), C. Ouzounis (CERTH, Greece), A. Valencia (CNIO, Spain), S. Brunak (DTU, Denmark), J. Vilo (QureTec, Estonia), J. Ellenberg (EMBL, Germany), H. Hermjakob (EBI, UK), J. Heringa (IBIVU, The Netherlands), C-H. Heldin (LICR, Sweden), E. Nigg (Biozentrum, Switzerland), E. Klipp (Humboldt Uni., Germany), J. Hancock (MRC MGU, UK), I.
