The minutes of the meeting on Friday 20th November 2015 were read and agreed. It was noted that the word “turbury” on page 2 should be spelled “tubary”.

Bohella Road () = Fordh Menabolla

Discussed whether the second element was Middle English ‘hill’; the historical forms supported the suggestion. The final vowel was schwa.

a. Derivas – Banadhel

PH submitted a report querying the appearance of the /dh/ of Banadhel. The stress outlined between the

examples provided - banadhel, banadhlen, banadhlek

were different and the two latter examples held different stress; whereas banadhel changed earlier.

It was agreed that was a derived form of NM . However, was not a Late PH Cornish development, but perhaps represented a difference in register. Both are acceptable spellings.

NM & PH to submit suggestions to place name outlines.

Believed to have been done with Loggans Mill.

Maiden Green (Gloweth) = Glesin Moren

The nearby doesn’t have a willow tree on it. Unclear why it was named , or whether it was of Cornish or English origin.

May have come from Cornish as Ventongreen was identified nearby.

Cornish ‘full’ would be the antithesis of ‘dry’ spring.

Final element may contain the French val ‘valley’, possibly meaning ‘head of the wine valley’.

Believed that Cornish may have fallen out of use c.1250 in this area of Launceston.
