NCAA Division II National Championship News & Notes (Men) RMAC schools have won 10 of the 12 NCAA Division II National Championships since the conference made the move into those ranks in 1992... WESTERN STATE has five of those titles, including a stretch of four straight from 1999-2002... ADAMS STATE also has five of those titles, including last year's championship... Both schools are tied with South Dakota State for the most overall NCAA Division II National Titles... The two RMAC schools have combined to win each of the last six titles and they have also swept the top two places on four occasions, the last coming in 1999 when Western State avenged a 1998 runner-up finish to Adams State... Western State has finished in the top five of all 12 Championships while Adams State has been one of the top three finishers in 10 championships, including the last six... CU-COLORADO SPRINGS will be sending a full team to this year's championships for the first time in school history... The Mountain Lions have qualified several individual runners in previous years... Adams State has the record for lowest point total (15), set in 1992... That team, which "perfect scored" the meet will be inducted into the National Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame on Friday, November 19th, the evening before the National Championships in Evansville, Ind... Individually, RMAC runners have won five of the 12 National Championship races... Adams State runners have now won three of those titles after Celedonio Rodriguez claimed last year's crown... Western State's Michael Aish won titles in 1999 and 2001... RMAC runners have also fared well from an All-America standpoint... NCAA Division II National Championship News & Notes (Women) RMAC schools have won all 12 National Titles since the conference made the move up to the NCAA Division II ranks in 1992... ADAMS STATE won the first eight of those from 1992-1999 before WESTERN STATE won three straight titles from 2000-2002... Adams State regained that spot last year... Both schools have qualified for all 12 NCAA National Championships... Adams State has finished now lower than fifth in any of the meets and have been first or second in 11 of the 12... Western State has finished no lower than third and has been first or second on 10 occasions, including a second placed tie in 1997... The two teams have swept the top two places nine times in the 12-year span, including the last three... CU-COLORADO SPRINGS has now qualified three teams for the National Championships, all in even years... The Mountain Lions finished 10th in 2000 and 11th in 2002... Adams State will be trying to tie Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo's record for the most NCAA Division II titles... Cal Poly-SLO won 10 straight titles before the RMAC, including Adams State, made the move to challenge the Division II run...
