    ÅLAND’S XXXI ORGAN FESTIVAL 26.6 - 3.7.2005 The theme for the Organ festival's jubilee year is French organ music from the 1800's and 1900's. There will also be some improvisational organ music. Artists from ten countries will participate. The Festival begins with a magnificent jubilee concert in the Jomala church where Frauenchor Spandau, the orchestra Musica da Camera, Carl Borsuk and André Mielewczyk of Berlin will perform. The next day we will listen to the frequently cele- brated French-Italian organist Silvano Rodi. Maria and Roman Perucki of Poland will give a matinee concert on organ and violin in St. Göran's church in Mariehamn. The same night the duo will perform in Föglö while the internationally renowned organist Jean-Christophe Geiser plays in Mariehamn. For the first time in the Organ festival's 30-year history we'll hear an Icelandic artist; Kári Thormar of Hallgrimskirkja in Reykjavik, play in Saltvik. The internationally celebrated organ improviser Hampus Lindwall of Stockholm will hold a concert on the Grönlund organ in Mariehamn. David Saint of Birmingham performs at an organ matinee in Jomala. Jean-Pierre Leguay, of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, will the same day perform in Finström. At the grand finale in Mariehamn, we will listen to the popular European Organ Duo play fourhanded. In Kumlinge and Sottunga, we'll hear the soprano Therese Karlsson of Åland, accompanied by the organist Heikki Seppänen of Turku. Katrin and Henryk Gwardak will participate in the children's concert in the gallery in St. Göran's church in Mariehamn.

    This is an Accepted Manuscript of an article published by European Yearbook of Minority Issues, available online: https://doi.org/10.1163/22116117_01701010 The 2018 South Tyrolean Election and the Consociational System of Democracy: Stability amidst Change? Matthias Scantamburlo (Aston University) Abstract: This article explores the impact of the 2018 South Tyrolean election on the autonomous province’s consociational system of democracy. Implemented to tame centrifugal tendencies between the territory’s language groups (German, Italian and Ladin), this system has since the 1990s been losing its inclusive capacity. While the Italian-speaking electorate has increasingly been underrepresented in the main decision-making processes, the German-speaking intra-ethnic electoral arena experienced the rise of secessionist parties. The article shows that, despite major changes affecting party politics in South Tyrol, the outcome of the 2018 election contributed to restore stability to the consociational system. I. INTRODUCTION The election to the provincial council, the Landtag, of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/South Tyrol (hereafter South Tyrol), held on 21 October 2018, resulted in a major shift of power and important changes in the province’s consociational political system. The South Tyrolean Peoples’ Party (SVP), the main representative of the German- and Ladin-speaking minorities and regional key power player since 1945, for the first time in its history forms a government with an Italian-speaking right-wing party, the populist (Northern) League (LN).

(2) Article 305 of the Treaty provides for the members of the Committee of the Regions and an equal number of alternate members to be appointed by the Council for a term of five years in accordance with the proposals made by each Member State. (3) As the term of office of the members and alternate members of the Committee of the Regions is due to expire on 25 January 2020, new members and alternate members should be appointed.
