#MEW2018 Marine Energy Wales Conference 19th April 2018, All Nations Centre Cynhadledd Flynyddol Ynni Morol Cymru 19eg Ebrill 2018, Canolfan yr Holl Genhedloedd Foreword It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Marine Energy Wales 2018 Conference. It is the first time we have brought our conference to Cardiff and we are pleased to be in our capital to celebrate another exciting year for marine energy in Wales, particularly in the Year of the Sea. Within the last 12 months we have seen many positive developments. The Swansea Bay City Deal was signed which included a major marine energy project in the form of Pembroke Dock Marine. The Morlais Demonstration Zone received significant EU Structural Funding, and the feasibility study is being completed for the Pembrokeshire Demonstration Zone. Wave-tricity and Marine Power Systems have built and launched their wave energy devices in Pembroke Dock with Bombora setting up their European headquarters there too. Meanwhile Nova Innovation have expanded their team in North Wales, and Minesto are well underway with construction in Anglesey. We have also been busy at Marine Energy Wales as we have begun work on our Marine Energy Test Areas (META) project in the Milford Haven Waterway, and continued our extensive political stakeholder engagement, supply chain development and education and skills programme. The conference today aims to showcase the real progress that has been made in Wales, outline future plans, and gives you an opportunity to network with colleagues across the industry. I would like to thank all of our delegates, sponsors, speakers and exhibitors for supporting our event and I hope you enjoy the day. Martin Murphy, Chair, Marine Energy Wales Rhagair Mae’n bleser mawr gennyf eich croesawu i Gynhadledd Ynni Morol Cymru 2018. Dyma’r tro cyntaf i ni ddod â’n cynhadledd i Gaerdydd ac rydym yn falch o fod yn ein prifddinas i ddathlu blwyddyn gyffrous arall ar gyfer ynni morol yng Nghymru, yn enwedig ym Mlwyddyn y Môr. O fewn y 12 mis diwethaf, rydym wedi gweld llawer o ddatblygiadau positif. Arwyddwyd Bargen Ddinesig Dinas-Ranbarth Bae Abertawe a oedd yn cynnwys prosiect ynni morol mawr ar ffurf Ardal Forol Doc Penfro. Derbyniodd Parth Arddangos Morlais Arian Strwythurol sylweddol o’r UE, ac mae’r astudiaeth ddichonoldeb yn cael ei gwblhau ar gyfer Parth Arddangos Sir Benfro. Mae Wave- tricity a Marine Power Systems wedi adeiladu a lansio eu dyfeisiau ynni tonnau yn Noc Penfro gyda Bombora yn sefydlu eu pencadlys Ewropeaidd yno hefyd. Yn y cyfamser, mae Nova Innovation wedi ehangu eu tîm yng Ngogledd Cymru, ac mae Minesto wedi dechrau ar y gwaith adeiladu yn Ynys Môn. Rydym hefyd wedi bod yn brysur yn Ynni Morol Cymru wrth i ni ddechrau gweithio ar ein prosiect Ardaloedd Prawf Ynni Morol (META) yn Nyfrffordd Aberdaugleddau, a pharhau â’n hymgysylltiad gwleidyddol helaeth, datblygu’r gadwyn gyflenwi a’r rhaglen addysg a sgiliau. Nod y gynhadledd heddiw yw dangos y gwir gynnydd a wnaed yng Nghymru, amlinellu cynlluniau yn y dyfodol, a rhoi cyfle ichi rwydweithio gyda chydweithwyr ar draws y diwydiant. Hoffwn ddiolch i’n holl gynrychiolwyr, noddwyr, siaradwyr ac arddangoswyr am gefnogi ein digwyddiad a gobeithiaf y byddwch chi’n mwynhau’r diwrnod.
