BIOGRAPHY Dr. Elizabeth Hunter currently serves as a faculty member at Regent University in the School of Education. As a Doctor of Education, she teaches in the M.Ed. K-12 Special Education & Reading Specialist programs, the Autism Certificate, and the Ed S, Educational Leadership with Special Education emphasis program and serves on doctoral dissertation committees. Her expertise in instructional technology and media enhances her on-line and face-to-face courses and publications with visual media technology. Dr. Hunter contributes to graduate professionals in the various fields of exceptional needs education, with quality teaching and mentoring based on our conceptual framework. Faith & Reason integration is a strong influence in her teaching and evidenced in her faith-filled service and communications with both students and colleagues. Dr. Hunter contributed with other faculty to the writing and development of the School of Education Conceptual Framework and uses it to develop Faith and Learning integration into each course she teaches always keeping in mind our Regent University goal Christian Leadership to Change the World. The Conceptual Framework can be accessed at:www.regent.edu/acad/schedu/about/framework.cfm Dr Hunter has 20 years of experience in the field of Special Education and more than 30 years of experience in Communication Technology especially in television and video education production. She has dedicated her life to students with exceptional needs and to those who teach them and has been involved in numerous publications and presentations in her areas of expertise and holds honors and awards for her contributions in both fields. She has held appointments and positions of leadership in the combined fields in her church and community as well as in professional organizations. 1 Dr. Hunter has served as an active member and as President, Vice President, and President- elect for the VA CEC and International CEC and consults with ETS in assessment development of the Special Education and the Intellectual Disabilities PRAXIS II exams. Additionally, she consults privately with schools, churches, and parents in the areas of exceptional disabilities especially Developmental Delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and enhancing reading Integration into all content areas. Dr. Hunter has expertise in instructional technology and media and enriches her on-line and face-to-face courses and publications with visual media technology. She pursues ethnographic research to produce educational and documentary film with content based on grounded research that is appropriate for use in higher education. She writes and produces educational articles and books utilizing instructional videos and documentary film that educate and entertain.
