Black Sabbath Reunion : Vocals Tony lommi: Guitar Terry "Geezer" Butler: Bass : Drums Reunion is Black Sabbath's first new album in 20 years. Technically, Sabbath never really broke up. ------However, this def- inite ly IS a -Chris Reznak reunion. Heavy STAFF WRITER rock legend Ozzy Osbourne was booted out o f the band in the late 70's after ten plus years. He ' went o n to form a huge ly successful solo career in the company of the late great g uitar gian t Randy Rhodes, Jake E. Lee, and among others. Bill Ward soon exi ted after Osbourne. To put it mildly, the band was never the same. Black Sabbath was formed in the late 60's in the dank smoke s tack indus try town of England. The band re leased the ir first album Bluck Subburh in 1968 . The ir sound exhibited a dark and evil tonality and the ir lyrics dis­ c ussed the ugly aspects of the ir li ves in the dismal polluted town o f Birmingham. In the past year, (real name: NomlUn Cook) has become one of the bi ggest stars of the so-call ed "electro ni ca" genre. About a year ago ,- he had a hit single with the Who-sampling "." SWIM TEAMS READY TO GO THE DISTANCE

It has been a long while since both the Men's and Women's swim teams faced competition. Their last meet was in December against division rival Lycoming College. After a restful two weeks, the teams traveled to West Palm Beach Florida for a week of dual practice,. long distance training. All the hard work seems to have paid off as the Women's teams have won two out of their last three and the Men are still undefeated in the Middle Atlantic Conference. With four meets to go and championships coming up quick, the _ teams try to get in few more yards as they prepare to taper their yardage under the direction of Head Coach Bob Piotti and Assistant Coaches Eva Bandura Doug 'Fergueson and David Black. ENT. EDITOR Both teams have had three meets in the last two weeks against new conference addition Fairleigh Dickinson University, King's College and the University of Scranton. Since the Fairligh Dickinson team consisted of five wOm"en and open man, the Widener swim teams returned to basics working their stroke . techniques and turns. One week later, the teams faced King's college as they returned to their marathon meet schedule. The women's team showed off their strength winning the meet in a landslide victory 106-55. Bringing it home in a big way ~ere Margaret Gwynn in the 1000 yard freestyle (12:51.42) and Co. Captain Penny Lucky winning the 100 yard freestyle with a time of I :02.77. Also helping the cause were wins for Allison Brazill in the 50 yard freestyle (28.03) and Kristi Wilson in the 200 I.M. with a time of 2:31.85. The Men's team also had a big meet against the King's monarchs, winning the meet 93-37. Coming up strong was Rick Evans winning the 1000 yard freestyle (12:09.25) and Matt Hoke winning the 200 I.M . with a time of 2: 17.32. Allison in the 1000 yard freestyle was Sean Flynn, coming in second for his first the swimming the event this year. Nick Maroni, coming off his first productive Florida training trip finished a close third in the 100 yard freestyle (55.41). Last Saturday the teams traveled to the University of Scranton to swim some fast times in a former championship pool. While the men would go onto win their meet 105- 47, the Women would take a loss at the hands -of their opponents with the scoreboard reading 105-57. Theresa Coughlin finished fourth in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 28 .68 and returning swimmer Karyn Sweeney turned some heads as she placed fourth in the 100 yard breastroke with a time of I :22 .30 Finally, the freestyle relay team of Melinda Stout, Sweeney, Liz Evanitsky and Coughlin would go onto second place in that race with a time of I :54.13 . For the Men, fast times were expected from the good aquatic facility at Scranton. Well, the coaches wanted them and fast times is exactly what they got. Adam Diekow won the 1000 yard freesty le ( 10:50.97) and the 500 yard freesty le. Tim Fitzgerald won the 200 yard I.M. with time of 2:08.89 and his partner in crime, Mark Perri won the 100 yard butterfly with a tie of 57.37. Returning to competition, Jason Mitchell placed third in the 100 yard backstroke (I :06.52) and J illl Virnelson qual i fied for cham­ pionships in his 100 yard breastroke with a third place time of I: 13 .14. The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Dan~~ Boyer, Matt Hoke, Perri and Mike Coughlin won the event with a time of 1:37.49. Wednesday Night the Men's team faced its biggest competition of the season from Albright College. Although no states are available, the Men won their meet 123-85 with several big races completing the evening. Starting things ofT was the medley relay team of Jason Mitchell, Matt Hoke, Tim Paul and Dan Boyer finished hard placed a close second to the other team from Widener featuring Ash Brandon, Tim Fitzgerald, Mark Perri and Coughlin. Adam Diekow won the 1000 yard freestyle, Doug Ferguson won the 500 yard freestyle and Shamus - Keeler finished a strong second in the 1000 yard freestyle . Next the team travels to Leb~non Valley College on Saturday, followed by Elizabethtown and Susquehanna next week. If all goes well, the Men will be on their way '·
