All of our people, from youth through adults, need to be shepherded and mentored to maturity. Much of this is accomplished through our “pulpit ministry;” however, much is also done as we spend time with our people in other settings. Such things as church activities and ministries, work days, and youth camps give us special opportunities to minister to our people. While I am on the subject, I would encourage every pastor to spend some time with your young people at youth camp this summer. Many folk now serving as pastors, missionaries, and in other places of full-time Christian work have surrendered to the ministry while attending youth camp; and many great church laymen have ...continued on page 9 “RIVERS IN THE DESERT” OF ARIZONA WERE SPIRITUALLY THIRST-QUENCHING A Report on the February GIBF Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona

We have increased our subscription list by nearly 500, this issue only, in a deliberate effort to introduce ourselves and the Global Independent Baptist Fellowship (GIBF) to scores of preachers who may not be familiar with us. And we certainly want those who have heard some things to be sure and get a sampling “from the horse’s mouth” on who we are, where we stand, and what we are about. Detailed specifics on our doctrinal stand and our operations can be found on our website — [www.gibf.org]. Contact information can also be found there. Subscription info for the paper is in the lower left block on this page. We want to not only introduce ourselves but also invite the involvement and encourage the cooperation of men who are of like-faith and practice. We believe there are many separatist Baptists “out there” in search of a band of men with whom they can co-labor – men who stand as they do, with the philosophy and purposes they hold dear. If you are one of those we have in mind, may this be your first “Welcome!” Jump in. Be a part. Make contact with GIBF leaders on both the national and local levels (see the list of some state and regional fellowships included in this edition; attend the next meeting nearest to you and get a taste of what you can expect).
