A free dance practitioner, she created the Serpentine Dance, performed in a long, flowing silk skirt, which dramatically captured the multi-colored stage lights. Her innovations in stage lighting using chemical compounds for creating color gel and the use of chemical salts for luminescent lighting and garments earned her several patents and the respect of renowned scientists, such as Marie Curie.
