De moeilijkheid is dan dikwijls: waar kunnen we naar toe gaan om een prettig en interessant dagje te hebben waarbij alle gezinsleden, de ouders, de oudere kinderen, maar ook de kleinere kinderen aan hun trekken komen? Er zijn in ons land heel wat boeken, heel wat góéde boeken ook, met autotochten, met natuurwandelingen, met stadswandelingen, maar ze zijn nog te weinig toegespitst op de dagrecreatie en ze houden - lijkt mij - nog te weinig rekening met de uiteenlopende interessen van alle gezinsleden, te weinig vooral met de interessen van de kinderen. Daarom wil ik u in dit boek een spijskaart van mogelijkheden bieden. Betrekkelijk willekeurig heb ik in ons land een reeks streken en plaatsen uitgezocht, waarheen een lonende dagtrip kan worden gemaakt, met onderweg voor elk der gezinsleden iets moois, iets interessants, iets leuks of iets prettigs. Het zou weinig moeite gekost hebben om nog meer dagtrips te beschrijven, maar ik moest een selectie maken. De dagtrips zijn beschreven in twintig hoofdstukjes, die echter nogal uiteenlopen wat inhoud en wijze van beschrijving betreft. In sommige gevallen is een dagtrip kant en klaar uitgewerkt, in andere gevallen is een overzicht gegeven van wat de streek aan mogelijkheden te bieden heeft die aan uiteenlopende interessen- variërend van een moderne kerk of een handwerkexpositie, tot een zwembad of een speeltuin - tegemoetkomen.

A proposal which will actually get people to switch from cars to trams, as I say in the submission, a switch that has never been demonstrated by buses, we are not against buses, we want buses, we want trams to be the backbone feed and linked to a comprehensive network of bus routes. I have also attached a chart showing the rise in passages numbers of the Manchester tram Metrolink, which has increased the numbers traveling by tram almost every year and now stands at 44.3 million journeys in the 2019/20 financial year. Also a short video of trams in the historic centre of Seville. A more technical document on the 'Technical, sociological and economic reasons why trams are an essential backbone to a bus based transport system’. El plan director trazado por OMA establece una batería de intervenciones, edificios residenciales, edificios públicos, aparcamien- tos, espacios públicos y una serie de funciones adicionales que generan un nuevo paisaje dentro del contexto urbano. El diseño se basa en el modelo de campus universitario, como disparador para generar una vida urbana abierta. Esto se debe a las condiciones particulares del sitio: un espacio vacío en el centro de la compacta ciudad de Breda, pero que también forma parte de un bolsón verde que sirve de recueste a la ciudad y que está definido por tres parques: el parque de Deportes, el parque Wilhemina y el parque Brabant. El espacio verde funciona como unificador de los diversos edificios que se erigen espaciados en el sitio. Además del plan, OMA proyecto uno de los bloques de viviendas y el aparcamiento. Este conjunto se resuelve mediante un borde de manzana macizo, que se conforma a partir del encastre y apilamiento de tres bloques, donde se desarrollan las viviendas y un volumen central vacío.
