The Cummins Founda on made its first grant to support architects fees for this school, with the desire to provide an alterna ve to the standard, but uninspiring, school buildings being built in the baby boom era of the late 1950s and early 1960s. That design grant, repeated several mes for other public facili es, eventually became the Cummins Founda on Architecture Program.
