Over the years, one of the key vehicles for communications with the candidates and general discussion of the election has been, and continues to be, the Official Election List. We am pleased to announce that the 2010 Election list will be open for business effective June 1st. This list will be, as always, intended for questions and answers between the candidates and members of STARFLEET. Discussion of the election is also permitted on the list. To sign up for the election list, please visit the website below: http://lists.sfi.org/listinfo.cgi/election2010-sfi.org Vice-Chief of Communications, MGEN Dennis Rayburn, has been assigned the task of being the Moderator and one of the three list administrators. The other two administrators are Chief of Communications RADM Jonathan Lane, and STARFLEET Inspector General Wade Hoover. The list will be operated in a family-friendly format. So please keep the language clean with that in mind. The list is restricted to election business only; any other topics will be requested to be moved elsewhere. Dennis Rayburn will be very actively moderating the list this year. An escalating series of moderation actions—from warning to temporary suspension to full moderation—will be taken for members who exhibit disruptive behavior deemed to be violating the list rules (which will be e-mailed monthly to all list subscribers). Moderation decisions can be appealed to Jon Lane and Wade Hoover, but their decisions become final after that. Let’s make this an informative, dynamic, but most of all civil election season, folks. Choosing the leaders for this club is a responsibility that all of us members share equally. Be involved. AROUND THE FLEET Region 7 EVENT Lt. Colonel Anne Zecca displays a special certificate that was presented by Region two members to the corporate headquarters of Life South Blood Center in Gainesville, Florida. At the Region 2 Summit, STARFLEET members were involved in a Blood Drive and collected seven units (pints) of blood. Afterward, they presented this Certificate of Appreciation to the director of the blood center, Mr. Kenneth Story. The blood drive was held at the Holiday Day Inn in Columbus, Georgia. Vice Admiral Freddy Heller of the host chapter USS DaVinci was the promoter of the event. Also at the event was Colonel Joe Gallagher, Starfleet Medical, who held a CPR class.
