Project Update On November 13, 2013 the first public meeting for this project was held. Since then, field surveys, initial environmental analysis, forecasts, and preliminary alternatives have been completed. Based KY 3005 (Ring ) Extension on the public input received and the analyses conducted, the study from Western Kentucky to I-65 and US 31W, area has been reduced to the northern half of the initial area. including a new with I-65 Also, since the last meeting the Kentucky Legislature enacted a new Six Year Plan (2014-2020). The new plan includes funds for KYTC Item # 4-198.00 right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation, and construction. The Hardin County, Kentucky previous plan only had funds for the planning and design.

Next Steps Based on your input tonight, our project team will continue to study the preliminary alignments to extend east to I-65 and US

31W. The studies will include environmental analyses of the human and natural environment, design issues, cost, and public input.

Attention: Brad Bottoms, P.E. Project Manager Purpose of This Meeting The study area, since the meeting held in November 2013, has been reduced from the red dashed line to the green area. Only We are seeking your input regarding the proposed extension of KY alternatives in the green area are being studied. 3005 (Ring Road) east approximately 2.5 miles to create a new full interchange with Interstate-65 and then terminate at US 31W. KYTC has completed an initial Interchange Justification Study for the Ring Road extension and new interchange, and is now looking at alternative alignment locations. As we advance this project, we are seeking your input on the alignment options and environmental considerations such as cemeteries, utilities, community impacts and sinkholes. You are invited to view the display maps at your leisure. Personnel from KYTC District 4 and our consultants (Qk4) are available to answer your questions about this important project. Purpose and Needs for This Project The Purpose of the project is to improve the east-west system connectivity between the generally north-south radial routes and the interstate network on the south side of Elizabethtown. The Needs for the project are in large part based on the existing and projected land uses (residential and industrial) and resulting traffic patterns in this part of the county. Another goal has been identified for this project:

To improve connectivity between the east and west side of Elizabethtown, including J. Patterson Industrial Park and the Glendale Industrial Site
