These images cover IMSA Camel GT Championship and support races, Trans-Am Series races, CART races, and various SCCA races from 1963 through 2005. Notable venues include Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Daytona International Speedway, Watkins Glen Circuit, Lime Rock Park, and Road Atlanta. Also included are CD-roms, official racing programs, race results, entry lists, qualifying results, media guides, and newspaper clippings. These documents also include drive information, schedules, maps, and personal notes taken during the races. The Geoffrey Hewitt photographs, circa 1963-2005 slides, negatives, and transparencies were digitized and are available on the Revs Digital Library (http://stanford.io/2stlImD). Language: Materials are in English. Biography: Geoffrey Hewitt was a prominent motorsports photographer and lifelong car enthusiast. Born in 1943 in Washington D.C., he lived in Maryland for nine years before moving to Ohio. Hewitt married in 1978 and frequently toured with his wife, Mary, to photograph car races and the people involved in them. He began selling his photographic art in the 1970s, and continued into the 2000s. He is known for his unique lighting conditions, exceptional angles, and shutter speeds. Scope and Content Note: The Geoffrey Hewitt photographs are organized into seven series: Series 1: Boxes 1-19 contain 59,183 black-and-white negatives of IMSA and SCCA races. Featured venues include Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lime Rock Park, Daytona International Speedway, Watkins Glen Circuit, Nelson Ledges, Sebring International Raceway, Detroit Street Circuit, and Miami Grand Prix Street Circuit. Series 2: Boxes 1-18 contain 69,989 color negatives of IMSA and SCCA races. Featured races include Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Nelson Ledges, Watkins Glen Circuit, Lime Rock Park, Sebring International Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Road America, Miami Grand Prix Street Circuit, Laguna Seca, Columbus Street Circuit, and the Detroit Street Circuit. Series 3: Boxes 1-101 contain 186,218 color transparencies of IMSA and SCCA races. Featured races include Lime Rock Park, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen Circuit, Sebring International Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Road America, Miami Grand Prix Street Circuit, and Heartland Park. Also included are official racing programs, racing results, qualifying results, entry lists, unofficial summaries, official grids, schedules of events, venue maps, newpaper clippings, and personal notes regarding the races. Tobesure,thereare vastdifferences between the 914/6and the Boxster-overall length and wheel base, not the Nazareth Speedway least ofthese, with theBoxster appearing quite a bitlarger than CART/Indy Car - April 25,26 & 27 the petite /6. And although it is easy to trace the Boxster's NASCAR/Busch Series - May 17 & 18 lineage back tothe current 911, the Boxster looks like nothing else on the road.

POWER WON THE 2012 RACE AND THE 2008 RACE (THE LAST CHAMP CAR-SANCTIONED EVENT). AL UNSER JR. WAS DOMINANT AT LONG BEACH, WINNING SIX TIMES: 1988, ’89, ’90, ’91, ‘94 AND ’95.
