Le précédent, Shallow Life est sorti il y a 3 ans. Don GILMORE est de nouveau à la production, qui est d'une qualité et d'une propreté clinique. Cristina SCABBIA a toujours sa voix si envoutante, calme puis puissante. En revanche, la voix d'Andrea FERRO rappelle par moment celle de Deryck WHIBLEY de SUM 41. Les joutes vocales entre les deux chanteurs (qui a dit entre la Belle et la Bête ?) sont de retour pour notre plus grand plaisir. Dark Adrenaline est plus puissant que son prédécesseur. Les guitares y sont beaucoup plus présentes. Les chansons sont accrocheuses et les refrains entêtants. Il y a plusieurs tubes en puissance : Kill The Light, Gimme Something More, I Don't Believe In Tomorrow et le superbe Intoxicated. Ce qui m'a le moins plu sur ce disque, c'est la reprise de Losing My Religion de REM, qui est pour moi le maillon faible de l'album. Les avis vont être partagés pour cette chanson, chacun ses goûts. La durée de la plupart des titres est calibrée pour être diffusé à la radio. Sauf le superbe My Spirit qui clos l'album et dépasse les 5 minutes. Ce titre qui lorgne vers le rock progressif reprend l'atmosphère des premiers album du groupe. Est-ce un clin d'oeil au passé ? Ou est ce que LACUNA COIL va écrire des titres plus longs et épiques pour ses prochains disques ? Dark Adrenaline est le meilleur album de LACUNA COIL depuis Comalies (2002).

    Sentenced und Lacuna Coil Essen Zeche Carl 2002 Ja, war sehr schön ! Sentenced / Lacuna Coil 4.11.02, Essen, Zeche Carl Fahrten zur Zeche Carl haben immer auch was von ´ner Camel Trophy für Arme. Da fährt immer Einer mit der ständig pinkeln muss, außerdem scheint es in Essen immer zu regnen und wenn man nicht aufpasst, steht man ganz schnell auf Deutschlands „gepflegtesten“ Parkplatz; viel zu klein, daher immer voll und mit Schlaglöchern durchzogen. Komplette, mit Nu-Metallern besetzte, Kleinwagen sollen schon in den Kratern verschwunden sein. Geändert wird seit Jahren nix. Wahrscheinlich steht der „Parkplatz“ schon unter Denkmalschutz und die dürfen die Löcher gar nicht zuschütten. Also gut, ausverkauftes Haus, und die erste Band des Abends, BLACKSHINE, haben wir natürlich verpasst. Sollte die jemand zufällig gesehen haben, dann schreibt doch bitte ´nen Kommentar. Dann also erst mal zum Merchandise-Stand, und siehe da, es geht auch anders: T-Shirt für 15 € .....hat da wirklich mal jemand DM auf Euro umgerechnet und nicht einfach nur die Währungsangabe hinter der Zahl ausgetauscht ?! Danke ! Gekauft ! Aber das mit den positiven Erlebnissen war noch steigerungsfähig. Mit LACUNA COIL begannen fünfzig dermaßen kurzweilige Minuten, dass man nach der letzten Zugabe „Daylight dancer“ (die Über-Nummer) eigentlich noch ´ne Stunde weiter den Klängen des Fünfers aus Mailand hätte zuhören können. Der ausgewogene Wechselgesang zwischen Frauen- und Männerstimme, vor allem aber die vor geilen Melodien nur so strotzenden Songs der letzten beiden Alben „Unleashed memories“ und „Comalies“ machten richtig Spaß. Egal ob „Senzafine“, „When a dead man walks“, „Heaven´s a lie”, “Swamped” oder “Entwined”, jedes Stück schlug ein und blieb haften.
