November 2008 Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, liebe Freunde unserer Hochschule, nach zweijähriger Generalsanierung nimmt unser H.H. Diözesanbischof, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Ludwig Müller, am 22. November 2008, dem Gedenktag der hl. Cäcilia, der Patronin der Kirchenmusik, nach dem Festgottesdienst die Segnung der Hochschulgebäude vor. Für die älteste kirchenmusikalische Ausbildungsstätte der Welt (gegründet 1874) und die jüngste Musikhochschule Deutschlands (seit 2001) ist dies ein historischer Tag: Mit der Sanierung der geschichtsträchtigen Räumlichkeiten und der Optimierung der Ausstattung, mit der gleichzeitigen Stärkung des kirchenmusikalischen und musikpädagogischen Profils in der Umsetzung der europäischen Studienreform (Bachelor/Master) sieht sich die Hochschule für die Zukunft bestens gerüstet. Die Freude darüber wollen wir in einer Festwoche zum Ausdruck bringen: In Gottesdiensten, Konzerten und Workshops zeigt die junge Hochschule, was in ihr steckt. November 1874 wurde die Regensburger Kirchenmusikschule vom damaligen Domkapell- meister Franz Xaver Haberl gegründet. 1973 wurde sie zur Fachakademie für katholische Kirchenmusik und Musikerziehung ausgebaut. Am 22. November 2001 schließlich erfolgte die Erhebung zur Hochschule für katholische Kirchenmusik und Musikpädagogik. Am Cäcilientag 2008 feiern wir nun den erfolgreichen Abschluss der zukunftsweisenden Generalsanierung der Hochschule. -

Its role in Christian theology and spirituality has a much longer history, but by the beginning of the twentieth century, its expressive potential had not been significantly recognized in liturgical choral music. This study examined the relationship between twentieth-century musical silence and the expression of silence as the ineffable in Anglican choral music (referred to as English cathedral music or ECM) of the middle of the twentieth century. -
