E [email protected] 2 Welcome Dear Patrons, Guests and Supporters, On behalf of CRY, it’s my special privilege to extend a very warm welcome to you tonight and to thank you for attending this, our very first CRY Auction. Special thanks also to Kings Community Church for allowing us to use this splendid venue! We do hope that you really enjoy the fundraising evening, and are very confident that the new CRY Documentary being shown tonight will encourage you to bid generously, knowing that the proceeds (100%) are going to such a good cause as the HOME OF HOPE Children’s Home, in Albania! Your support in this way will help us to save and restore more young lives… If, after tonight, you would like to financially support the charity on a regular basis, or would like to get more involved and ‘connected’, there are lots of ways you can do this, details of some which can be found in this catalogue and also on the CRY website. However, I would like to draw your special attention to considering donating your unwanted items to our CRY charity shops and signing-up to our project or child sponsorship schemes from just £2 a month. Please Help CRY to Make a Difference. Have a great evening! With every blessing David Farndale Executive Officer 2 Where are the proceeds going? All the proceeds from the auction are going to support the HOME OF HOPE children’s home in Albania, that also runs a Day Care Centre. CRY helps support the Home which provides a loving environment, education and basic medical care for the children. Most of the children attending the Day Care Centre are from poor and especially Roma Gypsy communities - a discriminated and excluded people-group that live in extreme poverty. Please be generous with your bids! Children from Home of Hope 3 4 Sponsorship You may be interested to know that CRY operates child and project sponsorship programmes - great ways to support CRY’s work by making regular donations. CHILD SPONSORSHIP We have child sponsorship programmes with the HOME OF HOPE Children’s Home in Albania and FATHER’S HOUSE Children’s Home in Ukraine. We suggest a donation of £15 a month which works out at less then 50p a day to sponsor a child. You’ll have the joy of seeing the difference your help makes, as the child learns, grows and develops in all sorts of ways, by receiving regular updates and the possibility to communicate directly with your sponsored child. Could you welcome a child into your family? PROJECT SPONSORSHIP You can also choose to sponsor a particular project which will impact many young lives. CRY currently sends regular donations to Albania, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Ukraine and Zimbabwe. If you are interested in either one of these schemes, you can sign-up on our website at WWW.CRY.ORG.UK or make further enquiries on the evening of the auction.
