Milby 2006 ABSTRACT Soccer playing style has not been addressed in detail in the academic literature, as playing style has often been dismissed as the aesthetic element of the game. Brief mention of playing style is considered when discussing national identity and gender. Through a literature research methodology and detailed study of game situations, this dissertation addresses a definitive definition of playing style and details the cultural elements that influence it. A case study analysis of German and Brazilian soccer exemplifies how cultural elements shape, influence, and intersect with playing style. Eight signature elements of playing style are determined: tactics, technique, body image, concept of soccer, values, tradition, ecological and a miscellaneous category. Each of these elements is then extrapolated for Germany and Brazil, setting up a comparative binary. Literature analysis further reinforces this contrasting comparison. Both history of the country and the sport history of the country are necessary determinants when considering style, as style must be historically situated when being discussed in order to avoid stereotypification. Historic time lines of significant German and Brazilian style changes are determined and interpretated.

    Vážení rodičia, koniec roka je časom bilancovania a hodnotenia, ale aj prijímania nových predsavzatí. Dovoľte mi pri tejto príležitosti spoločne sa podeliť o radosť pri hodnotení práve končiaceho roku 2015. Ten sa zapíše ako najúspešnejší rok v krátkej histórii FKM Karlova Ves. Keď sme pred polrokom na konci futbalového ročníka 2014 /2015 informovali o úspechoch nášho mládežníckeho futbalového klubu FKM Karlova Ves, netušili sme, že sa dá v našich skromných podmienkach dosiahnuť ešte viac. Cieľavedomá a obetavá práca v klube sa odzrkadlila na umiestneniach jednotlivých družstiev po jesennej časti súťažného ročníka 2015/2016. Dnes nebudeme podrobne hodnotiť účinkovanie jednotlivých družstiev, veď za všetko hovorí pohľad na výsledkový servis FKM KV, ktorý je nižšie uverejnený. Predsa však len spomeniem famózny úspech družstva staršieho dorastu. Prvé miesto po jesennej časti v 2. dorasteneckej lige – západ pred takými klubmi, ako sú Spartak Myjava, MFK Skalica, Horná Nitra , MFK Dubnica či Inter Bratislava bolo ešte pred nedávnom niečo nepredstaviteľné. Potvrdením kvalitatívneho posunu klubu sú aj výsledky a postavenie všetkých 4 žiackych družstiev /od 12 -ročných až po 15-ročných/ v najvyššej 1. lige. Všetky dnes už dokážu hrať a aj vyhrávať s družstvami ako AS Trenčín, FK Senica, ŠK Slovan Bratislava, Spartak Trnava, FC Nitra či Spartak Myjava. Je potešujúce, že za pribúdajúcimi bodmi a posunmi v tabuľkách je aj kvalitatívny posun v hernom prejave. Z hľadiska budúcnosti klubu je potrebné vyzdvihnúť priebežné 8. miesto najstarších žiakov (kategória U-15). Nezabúdajme ani na najmenších, na kategórie prípraviek. Aj oni dnes úspešne reprezentujú klub, a to nielen v súťažiach, ale aj na mnohých turnajoch. Vážení rodičia, nedá mi opäť nespomenúť a nepripomenúť, že prí beh FKM Karlova Ves je hodnotený v slovenskom futbalovom prostredí s veľkým rešpektom.
