SPIDERS ON STAMPS Dr. Beatrice R. Vogel, BU1809

Editor’s note. Dr. Vogel is a retired arachnologist and former research associate at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. She is the author of many scholarly publications with particular concentration on the genus Pardosa (wolf spiders). She is the founder and first president of the American Arachnological Society. The spider Oreoneta vogelae Saaristo & Marusik, found in the Russian Sokhondinsky Biosphere Reserve is named in her honor. Her topical philatelic interest is, naturally, spiders on stamps. I met Bea at the PIPEX 2012 show in Portland and she provided this listing at my asking. It lists only spiders and not other arachnids.
