The four stanze (rooms) of the apartment (nn. 15,14, 13, 12) were state rooms communicating with Julius private quarters (nn. 9, 10) and with the small chapel (n. 11) painted by Beato Angelico in 1448 during the reign of Nicholaus V. Rooms 7 and 8 were also renovated by Raphael who designed their beautiful new wooden ceilings for pope Leo X, whom entrusted the artist also with the decoration of the Logge (n. 17), facing east towards the Borgo Vaticano.
