Tea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 03-11-09 12:04 Tea From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Tea is the agricultural product of the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of the Camellia sinensis plant, prepared and cured by various methods. "Tea" also refers to the aromatic beverage prepared from the cured leaves by combination with hot or boiling water,[1] and is the common name for the Camellia sinensis plant itself. After water, tea is the most widely-consumed beverage in the world.[2] It has a cooling, slightly bitter, astringent flavour which many enjoy.[3] The four types of tea most commonly found on the market are black tea, oolong tea, green tea and white tea,[4] all of which can be made from the same bushes, processed differently, and in the case of fine white tea grown differently. Pu-erh tea, a post-fermented tea, is also often classified as amongst the most popular types of tea.[5] Green Tea leaves in a Chinese The term "herbal tea" usually refers to an infusion or tisane of gaiwan. leaves, flowers, fruit, herbs or other plant material that contains no Camellia sinensis.[6] The term "red tea" either refers to an infusion made from the South African rooibos plant, also containing no Camellia sinensis, or, in Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other East Asian languages, refers to black tea. • TEA GARDENS Relevant For: Indian Economy | Topic: Major Crops, Cropping Patterns and Various Agricultural Revolutions
crackIAS.com Source : www.thehindu.com Date : 2019-07-11 IAF TO ADOPT ASRAAM MISSILE FOR FIGHTER FLEET Relevant for: Science & Technology | Topic: Defence related developments The Indian Air Force is looking to adopt a new European visual range air to air missile across its fighter fleet. The Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile of European missile-maker MBDA has been approved for fitting on Jaguar jets. The IAF was looking to integrating it on the Su-30MKIs and the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft as well, defence sources said. “The ASRAAM has been chosen for the Jaguar and is currently undergoing integration. First firing is expected by year-end,” a defence source said. It would be the first over-the-wing launched missile in the IAF inventory. All missiles are now fired from under the wing. The missile was shortlisted through a tender and MBDA is working with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on the integration. After the initial trials, further modifications would be done by HAL. “HAL is in talks with MDBA for integrating the missile on the LCA and the Su-30MKI as well. It will be taken up after the Jaguar integration,” the source added. ASRAAM is widely used as a Within Visual Range (WVR) air dominance missile with a range of over 25km. HAL had built about 145 Jaguars for the IAF, of which around 120 are in service, and 80 jets will continue till 2025 to 2030. A plan to get a more powerful engine has been long delayed. Greenpeace India has had the most serious threat yet to its continued existence in India. This year we have withstood repeated assaults on our right to campaign on environmental and social justice issues in India. On the 6th of November, Greenpeace India Society received notice from the Registrar of So- cieties (RoS), summarily announcing cancellation of its registration as a society. The Executive Board of Greenpeace India Society was “directed to pass a special resolution and dissolve itself” within one month of the order. We believe this order is completely unjustified, especially, as we have complied with the law to the full- est. After a detailed review, we are convinced that the order contains several inaccurate and baseless allegations. For instance, we have been accused of not submitting a detailed response to their earlier notice (the show cause notice dated 16th of June), when we actually have copies of receipts stamped in acknowledgement of our response dated October 5th.

A multi-objective optimization tool for the Malawian tea industry with sustainability considerations by John Loti Taulo Dissertation presented for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Engineering at Stellenbosch University Supervisor: Prof. Albert Groenwold Co-supervisor: Prof. Adoniya Ben Sebitosi March 2017 Stellenbosch University https://scholar.sun.ac.za Declaration By submitting this thesis electronically, I declare that the entirety of the work contained therein is my own, original work, that I am the sole author thereof (save to the extent explicitly otherwise stated), that reproduction and publication thereof by Stellenbosch University will not infringe any third party rights and that I have not previously in its entirety or in part submitted it for obtaining any qualification. March 2017 Copyright © 2017 Stellenbosch University All rights reserved i Stellenbosch University https://scholar.sun.ac.za Abstract Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is fast becoming imperative for corporate governance in industry and business worldwide and is assuming an increasingly prominent role in the general discourse on globalization and sustainable development. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development has defined CSR “as the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society”. Different countries and organizations agree on the fundamental principles and spirit embedded in this definition. The major challenge, however, is that there are currently no standardised modalities by which it should be achieved nor a yardstick by which compliance can be graded. Differing perceptions of CSR have resulted in many disparate codes where they exist.
