Dianshan Lake is Shanghai's largest freshwater reservoir and the source of Huangpu River, the mother river of Shanghai. It covers an area of 62 square kilometers (24 square miles) and is surrounded by a web of canals and smaller lakes which all form part of the Yangtze River Delta.

Cenbo Village is small rural community located a few kilometers south of Dianshan Lake in the middle of forest wetlands. Cenbo is part of Jinze Water Town, a municipality of Shanghai’s Qingpu district with more than 900 years of history and related architecture monuments. Its location – only 60km from Shanghai Ppl Sq makes it an ideal starting point for exploring nature on weekends or even for a single afternoon.

The Parrot Tree is our Shanghai outdoor home base. You come once, we promise you will want to come again.

Conceived as space to unwind from busy city lives, the Parrot Tree is a blend between Alpine hostel and Yangtze River Delta countryside home. It offers 30 beds with shared bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen to enjoy tasty meals, a workshop space to practice handcrafts, and a selected library for young and old.

Surrounded by fields, canals and forest, the Parrot Tree is an ideal starting point to explore nature by foot, in kayaks or on bikes. Located South of Dianshan Lake it is easily accessible from downtown Shanghai by car and public transport.

An express bus [] - which can be conveniently found on baidu maps if you can read and type Chinese - leaves close to People Square from Danshui RdChangle Rd with one additional stop at Yanan Middle Rd / Shimenyi Rd [ ]Get off in Jinze Tow n [ ] after a 60-80’ ride and contact one of the local drivers to take you to Cenbo Village (CNY 30) once you are on the bus.

www.telospi.com If you take the bus: 1 1 Tanshui Rd / Changle Rd – Line 1 Huangpi South Station opposite of exit 1.

Enter Cenbo Road Community Center 220 [220] into your navigation system and take Yanan Parking Elevated Highway out of town and exit G50 at Xicen []. From there it’s another three km to Cenbo Village.

There is no parking in front of the house, so park your car on the basketball court opposite of the community center and walk from there or wait to be picked up.
