Clár Oifigiúil ORÁID AN CHATHAOIRLIGH A Cháirde Gael Fáilte mhór romhaibh uilig inniu chuig an lá is mó dúinn sa bhlian seo, le cluichí tabhachtacha ar an deireadh seachtaine chéanna sa dá chód. This has been a year like no other. We need not rehearse the difficulties faced by society, by our friends, our families, our neighbours, but we as an Association have stepped up and led in our communities. The second wave is not the fault of the GAA. No organisation has had the same profoundly positive effect on Irish society as the GAA. We have been a provider of recreation and enjoyment to young and old, a creator and enhancer of community spirit, an unrivalled machine for the production of joy which has done more to improve the mental and physical health of the nation than any initiative in Irish history. We salute the communitarian spirit and ethos of all our clubs, for delivering food parcels, and allowing our games to flourish safely when permitted. We are responsible and we value our well- deserved reputation, which is why we welcome you virtually to our games this weekend. We are delighted to link up with BeoSport for the Joe McDonough Cup game with Westmeath. Since we were last together, we have had an exceptionally successful and safe club championships, and we applaud all of our county champions for providing such joy to their communities. We are exceptionally proud of our county hurling team, who performed heroically last week in Portlaoise in the league final to win promotion to the top tier of hurling.

14 THE ANNUAL CONVENTION OF CUMANN LÚTHCHLEAS GAEL, COISTE CHONTAE THIOBRAID ÁRANN 2015 Tuarascáil an Rúnaí 2015 (Tipperary Co Secretary’s Annual Report) eidh cuimhne ar 2015 toisc gur shroicheamar trí chinn de cluichí ceannais na hÉireann. Cé nach raibh bua againn in aon ceann acu, is féidir linn a bheith deimhneach agus bródúil go rabhamar páirteach insan méid sin de laetha móra CLG. BD’fhág Éamon Ó’Sé slán tar éis páirt a ghlacadh sna cluichí ceannais sa sraith agus sa chraobh, ach ar a laghad, bhí sé de shólás aige Craobh na Mumhan a bhuachaint, an t-aon trófaí i rith a réime bhainistíochta. Leanann an dul chun chinn sa pheil agus chuir Na Tráchtálaí marc airde nua síos leis an éacht a rinne siad i Mí na Samhna ag tabhairt an chéad Craobh Peile Chúige ar ais don chontae. It is a privilege to present my ninth report to Tipperary County Convention. 2015 was so full of promise being so near and yet so far away and could have easily turned out a great year. After a bad start losing the Waterford Crystal and League first round our Senior Hurlers had four very impressive League wins on the trot to qualify for the League play-offs. A most disappointing one point loss to Waterford in the League Semi was put aside as we overcame our bogey team Limerick in the Munster Championship with a sixteen point victory in their own Gaelic Grounds. This was followed up with a Munster Final win over Waterford and momentum was building towards an All Ireland Final.

Clár Oifigiúil Luach £3.00 / €3.00 ORÁID AN CHATHAOIRLIGH A Cháirde Gael Fáilte mhór romhaibh uilig inniu chuig an lá is mó dúinn sa tsraith, le cluichí tabhachtacha ar an lá chéanna sa dá chód. We welcome you hopefully to two venues today, with critical games in both codes, to Pairc Uí Cheallaigh, Port Gleann Eoghain, Port Chluain Eoghain and to Pairc Naomh Iosaef Lann Abhaigh. We are deeply indebted to both clubs for their expertise and experience in hosting our teams and for having their facilities in such impeccable condition. Both our senior hurlers and footballers have made strong starts to their respective league campaigns. Our footballers have opened with wins against Wexford and most recently in gruelling conditions in Ruislip against London setting up a mouthwatering clash today against Carlow. A solitary point separated us in our away game against Sligo, with an obscurely short amount of additional time being played, when we awaited a kick out with the wind at our backs. Our hurlers have won both games away to Wicklow and home to Mayo, with tougher tests awaiting for the rest of the league, starting today against Meath, who of course beat us in the 2016 Christy Ring final. Storm Dennis defeated both us and Offaly last week, in a key match which will require to be re-fixed before our final fixture away to Kerry in Tralee on 1st March. Promotion from both leagues is a key strategic objective for both panels and whereas it will be difficult we have started as we mean to go on.

  • 2021 GAA MEDIA GUIDE Treoirleabhar Na Meán 2021
2021 GAA MEDIA GUIDE Treoirleabhar na Meán 2021 @officialgaa 2021 GAA Media Guide - Teachtaireacht ón Uachtaráin Ba mhaith liom fáilte a chur romhaibh go léir ar ais chuig ár gcluichí The last 14 months have come as a challenge to us all and while we have some distance to travel before we can once again look forward to big games with full stadiums, there are green shoots ahead of us. Who could have known in mid-March last year when we took the decision to shut our activities down, that the Covid challenge would still be front and centre as the summer of 2021 approaches? The best of the GAA shone as we grappled with profound changes to our lives and the supports provided by our club and county network to those who needed them most was both heartening and reassuring. Our games when they returned were a welcome tonic. The club championships and all of the activity that preceded them helped breathe life back into communities right across the GAA family. Similarly, in the darkest days of winter the inter-county games provided us with a focal point and a welcome distraction as we grew accustomed to supporting our players and teams from afar. In the coming weeks, the Allianz League games will come thick and fast and the interest and excitement will follow. We have shown flexibility in organising our competitions, most notably in football where again a straight knockout approach will apply.
