Sports company PUMA pays homage to one of the most iconic football boots of all time by launching the all-new PUMA KING Platinum. Celebrating the 1968 edition, the year in which the PUMA KING was first launched, PUMA teamed up with Thierry Henry, one of the most gifted players of his era, to re-engineer the classic for a new generation of kings. The PUMA KING has been the football boot of choice for some of the greatest players in the history of the sport and Sunday League legends across the world. Today, PUMA re-masters the iconic silhouette with technical and performance input from Thierry Henry. Sharing his experience on the product development, Henry said “I was able to share my experience as a player with the PUMA Football design team when developing the updated PUMA KING. The boot has more than 50 years of history and is renowned for its use of premium materials and style. We applied the same formula in updating this iconic shoe, focusing on craftsmanship and technical performance to meet the needs of the modern footballer.” The PUMA KING Platinum updates the original KING design applying the latest in football performance technology. The Smooth, premium K- Leather boot upper remains and is enhanced with a 3D ‘touch’ texture for added control. Fit is improved with a snug fitting knitted tongue, and the ultra-modern slim silhouette combined with the super lightweight ‘RAPIDSPRINT’ outsole makes it the fastest, lightest KING ever to grace the pitch. The new PUMA KING Platinum will be available from June 6th at PUMA Stores, on PUMA.com and leading football retailers worldwide. For pictures and the Press Release download the Media Kit below. How To Walk A Puma PDF Books. "Plans are usually only good for one thing - laughing at in hindsight. So, armed with rudimentary Spanish, dangerous levels of curiosity and a record of poor judgement, I set off to tackle whatever South America could throw at me." On his nineteenth birthday, Peter Allison flipped a coin. One side would take him to Africa and the other to South America. He recounted his time spent as a safari guide in Africa to much acclaim in Don't Run, Whatever You do and Don't Look Behind You. Sixteen years later he makes his way to Chile, ready to seek out the continent's best, weirdest and wildest adventures - and to chase the elusive jaguar. From learning to walk a puma (or rather be bitten and dragged along by it) in Bolivia, to finding love in Patagonia and hunting naked with the remote Huaorani people in Ecuador, How to Walk a Puma is Peter's fascinating and often hilarious account of misadventures in South America. Ever the gifted storyteller and cultural observer, Allison makes many observations about life in humid climes, the nature of nomadism, and exactly what it is like to be nearly blasted off a mountain by the famous Patagonia wind. His self-deprecating humour is as delightful as his crazy stunts, and his love for animals - even when they bite - is infectious. The Two Thieves. • Major League Baseball's I-Team
Major League Baseball’s I-Team The I-Team is composed of players whose names contain enough unique letters to spell the team(s) for which they played. To select the team, the all-time roster for each franchise was compared to both its current name as well as the one in use when each player was a member of the team. For example, a member of the Dodgers franchise would be compared to both that moniker (regardless of the years when they played) as well as alternate names, such as the Robins, Superbas, Bridegrooms, etc., if they played during seasons when those other identities were used. However, if a franchise relocated and changed its name, the rosters would only be compared to the team name used when each respective player was a member. Using another illustration, those who played for the Senators from 1901 to 1960 were not compared to the Twins name, and vice versa. Finally, the most common name for each player was used (as determined by baseball- reference.com’s database). For example, Whitey Ford was used, not Edward Ford. Franchise Team Name Players Angels Angels Al Spangler Angels Angels Andres Galarraga Angels Angels Claudell Washington Angels Angels Daniel Stange Angels Angels Jason Bulger Angels Angels Jason Grimsley Angels Angels Jose Gonzalez Angels Angels Larry Gonzales Angels Angels Len Gabrielson Angels Angels Paul Swingle Angels Angels Rene Gonzales Angels Angels Ryan Langerhans Angels Angels Wilson Delgado Astros Astros Brian Esposito Astros Astros Gus Triandos Astros Astros Jason Castro Astros Astros Ramon de los Santos

I lusted after the various sports games advertised in the magazines until my mom finally relented and bought Strat-O-Matic Football for me in 1972. I got SOM’s baseball game a year later and I was hooked. I would get the new card set each year and attempt to play the in-progress season by moving the traded players around and turning ‘nameless player cards” into that year’s key rookies. I switched to APBA in the late ‘70’s because they started releasing some complete old season sets and the idea of playing with those really caught my fancy. Between then and the mid-nineties, I collected a lot of card sets.
