No evidence. No proof.Lots of names mentioned. Trailer Trash morons.So-and-so "saw" and "did" such-and-such. Really? Gosh!Cheap rumours. Hearsay. Ridiculous advice on how NOT to get abducted by aliens. As if!This book is total bunk.Let me give you some advice. Read books published by the Cambridge University Press. A real publisher! Come on, people! Read a book published by a legitimate academic organization. And by the way, there are no aliens! Only frauds! There can be NO OTHER possible explanation, as Von Danidork likes to say.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. OK in Parts Collection of Saucerian ArticlesBy JohnsThis is a selection of material from Gray Barker's newsletter. It includes among other things the NSA document "UFO Hypothesis and Survival Questions", which also appears in the book Clear Intent. Also, there is discussion of the 1966 UFO sightings which famed UFO investigator J. Allen Hynek considered "very likely" to have been swamp gas, caused by spring thaws releasing trapped gases. There is also some discussion about a contributor to Barker's Saucer News magazine, Richard H. Pratt, alias John C. Sherwood, who Barker claims associated with "notorious magician" James Randi. Further on, Barker includes the words of John Lennon's ex-girlfriend May Pang, who claimed that Lennon was a regular reader of Flying Saucer Review, Saucer News and Gray Barker's Newsletter. Also, Lennon reportedly wrote on the sleeve of his album Walls and Bridges, "I saw a UFO on August 23, 1974, at 9 o'clock." Details from May Pang about this alleged sighting are included. There's also a chapter by Ann Druffel on how to resist , followed by a chapter by Martin Cannon titled, "The Controllers", plus a short follow-up article by him called, "The Numbers Game". They are decent enough articles on the subject of mind control, but Cannon is unsuccessful in his attempt to make the case for all reported alien encounters being examples of mind control at work. He attempts to use the book Intercept But Don't Shoot by Renato Vesco as evidence for the theory that all physical UFOs are man-made. An afterword states that Cannon subsequently disappeared. In the 1994 edition of Operation Mind Control by Walter Bowart, in the chapter on Col. John Alexander, Bowart states that Cannon angered Col. Alexander and that Alexander's wife warned Cannon that her husband was most unhappy with him and that Gordon Novel was being sent to deal with him. Perhaps that claim could have been discussed in this book, following Cannon's articles.Overall, I don't think this is worth buying, but maybe worth a read with Kindle Unlimited.

New Saucerian Press proudly presents "Time-Traveling Through Swamp Gas: Strange Tales of Flying Saucer Intrigue" ndash; one of the last books ever written by the iconic ufologist, publisher, and bestselling author, Gray Barker, whose writing informed the plotlines of shows like "Star Trek," "Futurama," "The X-Files," "Twin Peaks," "The Outer Limits," and "The Twilight Zone." Shuttling between his Manhattan publishing office and his secluded cabin deep in the hills of his home state of West Virginia, the prolific Barker single-handedly kept public interest focused on UFOs during it leanest years, and introduced many themes still discussed and investigated by todayrsquo;s paranormal and conspiracy researchers: the Roswell UFO Crash, , Ancient Aliens, Nazi UFOs, the Philadelphia Experiment, the , Mothman, MJ-12, secret underground bases, , and the . "Time-Traveling Through Swamp Gas" and its sister books, "Serpents of Fire," "Saucers of Fear," and "Saucers of Fire" were assembled by Barker shortly before his death, using material culled from deteriorating copies of his notoriously speculative newsletters and gossipy syndicated column ndash; for years, the most widely read national column on UFOs, Forteana, and ldquo;weird science.rdquo; This unique edition of Swamp Gas features a special introduction by Barker, as well as reports from his field investigators, who ndash; in true newsletter style ndash; shed urgent, much-needed light on riddles such as: John Lennonrsquo;s UFO sighting, the NASA conspiracy, saucer crashes and recoveries, , alien abductions, mind control, and the psychology of UFO groups, hoaxes, disinformation, and surveillance. ldquo; The Godfather of Paranormal Conspiracy finally gets his revengehellip;rdquo; ndash;Paranoia ldquo;A good long game; Barker defends himself brilliantly...rdquo; ndash; The Skeptical Enquirer ldquo;A great mashing of classic themes, by the Great Conjurer himselfhellip;rdquo; ndash;UFO Magazine ldquo;Eerily predictivehellip; Very hip for its timehellip;rdquo; ndash;David Bowie
