I have left writing the editorial unlil last, in the hope that something inspirational would fill my brain and flow out onto this page. But, alas, I fear that all you are going to get in this editorial are my enthusiastic ravings about the articles in the fol­ lowing pages. Our first article covers the dangers ofplastics. This is a subject you will hearing a lot more about in the mainstream media, as much more information is coming to light and many groups are lobbying for a safer replacement. Out-of-body fans and espionage freaks will ,1/1 enjoy the article on Remote Viewing. If anybody goes OOB (out of body) into Pine Gap, or suchlike, be sure to let me know what you see! Be warned, though: some people claim there are 'astral' safeguards around such places. I won't be responsible for any zombie ex­ readers wanting a refund, though! Also this issue is an article by a great guy called Kenn Thomas. Kenn is the Editor of US-based Steamshovel Press, one of our favourite conspiracy zines. His article on Danny Casolaro, JFK, UFOs, etc., etc., and the links between them all, will satis­ fy our conspiracy readers out there. Our other health-based article is about the Dobkin Technique. Everyone should read it (it is only two pageslong!l as it could save someone's life. It is so simple and so brilliant. I have had it in my "possible articles this issue" tray for nearly two years, so I am happy to be able to publish it at last. Renegade archaeological researchers will hopefully appreciate the update on the politics surrounding the mysterious chambers and tunnels under the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid. Are these the legendary Halls of Records? The author, Graham Hancock, suggested to me that readers might like to lobby the Egyptian Consulate in their country, to make public any findings instead of keeping them secret. I have taken a punt and published a very interesting set of instructions on how to make your car run on water. Previous attempts have failed, so if you are reading this, we made it to print and you should take these instructions (in Science News) to your nearest (friendly) mechanic or mad scientist and see if he can make them work for you. Marcus Allen, who runs our UK office, has kindly submitted a brief piece on the latest crop circles. The formations this year are quite spectacular! Michael Hesemann, Editor extraordinaire of Magazin 2000 in Germany, has writ­ ten a very in-depth article challenging the popular belief that the Santilli autopsy film is a hoax. Armchair UFO 'researchers' might want to take note of some of his findings! This issue sees the last of the lecture with Alex Collier on the Andromedan per­ spective of Earth, although there is a fair bit of his own perspective thrown in, too. I am sure I will get the usual flood of letters praising the article, plus those few who write me each issue asking why I publish this sort of material. On November 20, 1992, I sent letters to J. William Roberts, then the Director of the BNL Task Force, and Judge Nicholas Bua, Special Counsel for the Inslaw investigation. [Attachments 10-A, 10-B]. I asked each of them for any information they might develop in their own investigations that might be relevant to the BCCI case, and assured them that we would provide them with the same courtesy. It was our view, however, that the FBI-BCCI Task Force should not seek to duplicate or supplant any aspect of these other investigations, both of which by that time had far more Departmental attention and support. Indeed, many of the FBI agents were reassigned from the BCCI case to BNL for the Lacey investigation, and were reassigned to other matters at the conclusion of that effort.     Danny Casolaro: 64 Stories, Part 2 by Christian Bell 33 On the morning of August 10, 1991, Danny Casolaro was found dead in his hotel room bathtub in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Naked, with twelve slashes to his wrists. Blood on the wall and floor, a scene that made one of the housekeeping staff faint. Paramedics found a beer can, a half-full bottle of wine, two garbage bags, and a standard straight razor. A detail revealed later: several towels were found on the bathroom, looked as if they had been used to wipe up blood, someone doing so using their foot, according to one of the housekeeping heads at the hotel. The blood smeared in a trail, leading to the disposed towels. These towels were thrown away. The death was ruled a suicide. A Martinsburg undertaker embalmed Casolaro's body that night, before Casolaro's family had been notified of his death—a crime in estW Virginia. Some of his fingernails were broken--no one looked under his fingernails for residue or skin fragments, any sign of a struggle. No bath water sample was taken. A bruise was found under the top of his head that could have induced moderate hemorrhaging. His briefcase and accordion file of notes on the Octopus, including the related manuscript that he was working on, were not in the room. They were not in his car. The immediate area was combed. Nothing. But experts in the underlying biophysics say it cannot work: the device would kill you well before you were bothered by the noise. The gun, which is being built by Lev Sadovnik at Sierra Nevada, would take advantage of a phenomenon known as the microwave auditory effect. When microwaves are delivered in short pulses, the cochlear tissue in the ear expands. That expansion is heard as an audible click to anyone receiving the radiation, a sound much like that of two rocks being hit together underwater. The company says that the device, called MEDUSA (for “mob excess deterrent using silent audio”), could be used for crowd control. However, experts say the gun wouldn’t work as advertised. There is no way the ray gun could deliver sound loud enough to be annoying at nonfatal power levels, says Kenneth Foster, a bioengineering professor at the University of Pennsylvania who first published research on the microwave auditory effect in 1974. “Any kind of exposure you could give to someone that wouldn’t burn them to a crisp would produce a sound too weak to have any effect,” Foster says.
