Biosensor is an analytical tool. It has vast applications ranging from pharmaceutical, food, chemical industry, defense to environment pollution check. There is heavy discharge of pollutants in the environment due to Industrialization, Urbanization and Agricultural practices . The main concern is of heavy metal ions which are persistent and get accumulated in the food chain. Heavy metal ions and pesticides have deleterious effects on health of mankind and eco system. Biological oxygen demand is an index of organic pollution. The conventional methods available for monitoring these pollutants are laboratory bound and need trained personnel.
