Indian - Scottish person Shand Panesar and Craig Nicholson awarded 2017 UK's Outstanding Bravery of Year Award in special award ceremony of Total Excellence in Policing Awards. 11. Indian Airline SpiceJet won 3 awards at Asia One Awards in Singapore - Asia’s Greatest Brands 2016, Global Asian of the year 2016 and Asia’s Greatest CFO 2016. 12. Indian Hockey Player Sandeep Singh honoured with Honorary Doctorate Degree by Desh Bhagat University, Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab). He is second Indian hockey player to receive this award after Dileep Tirkey. 13. Indo - British sculptor Anish Kapoor won 2017 USD 1 Million Genesis Prize by Israel for his contribution for Jewish community across world. 14. Jawaharlal Nehru University won Visitor’s Award 2017 for best Central University in India. These awards were instituted in 2015. 15. Noted cultural event - Khajuraho Festival will be Organized by Madhya Pradesh Government in February 2017, aiming to promote cultural heritage of India. 16. Oscars 2017 (89th ) - 1. Rajasthan and Telangana named Winners of Excellence under State category in eGov Awards 2017, Instituted by the Computer Society of India. Award of Recognition went to Odisha and Nagaland. 18. Renowned Hindi litterateur Surendra Verma selected for Vyas Samman 2016 for his novel Kaatna Shami Ka Vriksha : Padma Pankhuri Ki Dhar Se. 1. Vyas Samman award is given by K.K. Birla Foundation for outstanding literary work in Hindi. The award carries monetary award of 2.5 lakh rupees, a citation and a plaque. 19. Singer Lata Mangeshkar honoured with Legendary Award 2017 by BrandLaureate (Malaysia). 1. Brand Laureate Awards (including Legendary Award) recognise world-class achievement in branding amongst individuals and companies. In 2012, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with Legendary Award.
