Meeting Minutes Cleveland Suburban Hockey League General League Meeting February 7 2017 Garfield Heights Civic Center 7:00 P.M.

Attending Programs: Brooklyn, Canton-Akron, Cleveland Heights, Cleveland Skating Club, Elyria, Lake Erie Panthers (Euclid), Fremont, Garfield, Geauga, Gilmour, Kent, Mentor, North Olmsted, Parma, Rocky River, Shaker Heights, Strongsville, Winterhurst, Wooster. Lake Erie Tigers (PA) Missing Programs: Only Associate Jacks & Barons Attending Board Members: Tim O’Shaughnessy, Mike Goetz, Brendan Lewis, Pam Rice, Bob Shenk, Mike Radosevic, John Stojak, Chris Kendel, Cathy Fievet Missing Board Members: Don Lewis, Rick Kish, Tricia Cuglewski

1. Approval of Minutes from September 9, 2016 General League Meeting by Chris Kendel, 2nd.

2. Reviewed Playoff Status by Chris Kendel.

 Playoff eligibility forms/rosters to be collected and division reps.  Division representatives roll  Playoff Weekend Feb 25th and 26th  Finals at OBM Arena, Strongsville, March 4th.  Partnering with Cleveland Monsters. Patches will be going out via FED EX as teams are finalized.  Roger asked a question about injury effects on 50% rule.  Can bring up backup goalie if goalie is not needed.

3. Grant Update – Pam  MidAm thought we were ordering what we wanted. Instead we will refund the deposits for half the payment. Based on the submissions then the programs can order what they planned for and after receipts are submitted to CSHL we will submit for the grant.  Brooklyn and Cleveland Hts already go refunds and purchased there equipment.  Tim and Pam will talk with each program head individually.  Next season we will try to submit earlier.  Programs could submit on own.

4. USA Hockey High School Nationals – Greg Shantery  Tim introduced Greg as the Chair of the committee  32 teams from around the country. 8 teams have registered.  Playing at Mentor and Gilmour 62 games with two divisions pure and non-pure.  Still need 25-30 volunteers, Link on the website. Looking for Coaches and Referees.  Schedule in place just need teams.  Thursday March 30th thru April 3rd Finals.

5. NCHSHL Update/Playoffs/Buckeye Cup – John Stojak  4th year CSHL involvement in North Coast High School Hockey League  Reviewed schedule for High School Hockey Playoffs.  Buckeye Cup details reviewed. Looking to take profits and run a separate tournament next year.

6. Barons Red Update - Lindsey Krauth  Barons Red are planning to resubmit for entry into the CSHL for the 2017-18 season over the next couple of weeks they will submit the application.

7. Cleveland Monsters Update – David Aiken  David reviewed CSHL Championship Recognition Night that we will be hosting on Sunday March 26th 3pm.  Players get recognized on the ice. Players and coaches from Division and Plyoff winners get free tickets and discount tickets will be available.  Some teams will have Spring Break during that day.  Monsters will also have the trophy at the finals.

Notice for a By Law Amendment – Mike Radosevic  John Geffert is proposing amendments to three (3) sections of the CSHL Bylaws.  Copies of the bylaw amendments were distributed to those in the room  Formal motions will be discussed and voted on at the Annual Meeting May 9th 2017. 10. Cathy let everyone know she sent the patch request form out.  Cathy said wait till all league games are completed.
