Nexon Enters into Licensing Agreement with Tecmo Koei Provides Exclusive, Online Multiplatform Publishing Rights for Popular “Sangokushi Sousouden” Title

TOKYO – August 22, 2013 – NEXON Co., LTD. (“Nexon”) (3659.TO), a worldwide leader in free-to-play online games, today announced that Nexon and its wholly-owned subsidiary, NEXON Korea Corporation (“Nexon Korea”), have entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Tecmo Koei Games Co., Ltd. (“Tecmo Koei”) under which Nexon will publish online multiplatform content including mobile devices for Sangokushi Sousouden Online (working title), the online free-to-play version of a popular historically-based action video game.

Under the terms of the agreement, Nexon and Nexon Korea will enjoy exclusive publishing, licensing and promotional rights for Sangokushi Sousouden Online in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The game will be developed by Korean developer THINGSOFT.

Sangokushi Sousouden Online is a massively multiplayer tactical role-playing game (RPG) based on actual battles that occurred during the Three Kingdoms era in ancient China. Through a series of historically-based scenarios, players engage in combat to unlock ancient war heroes to add to their existing armies. Winning a scenario allows players to unlock new, more challenging scenarios, as well as advance on the online leaderboard. Throughout the game, users can obtain – through game performance or in-game purchases – special items that enhance players’ combat abilities.
