“The First Rule of Gunfighting is Have a Gun”: Technologies of Concealed Carry in Gun Culture 2.0 Paper Presented at The Copeland Colloquium on “The Symbolic and Material Construction of Guns” Amherst College 3-4 March 2017 David Yamane Professor of Sociology Wake Forest University [email protected] In April 2016, the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) its second annual Concealed Carry Expo (CCX) at the Georgia International Conventional Center near Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta. The event is billed as “the nation’s only event dedicated to the CCW lifestyle” (see Figure 1). Although the idea of a “lifestyle” might seem to trivialize the practice of citizens carrying deadly weapons in public, the reality is quite the opposite. Over the course of three days, various seminars repeatedly stress the seriousness and importance of being a regular and responsible armed citizen. Figure 1. Flier for 2nd Annual USCCA Concealed Carry Expo 1 A seminar on the laws governing the use of lethal force in self-defense by attorney Andrew Branca is free and open to the public. Although it begins at 8:00am, the audience is literally standing room as the overflow spills out from the combined German 1 and 2 suites into the hallway. Branca later signs copies of the third edition of his book, The Law of Self-Defense, which the USCCA has licensed and is giving away free of charge to Expo attendees. Other seminars presented throughout the weekend cover concealed carry basics for beginners, hand-to- hand techniques to employ before using a firearm, mental preparation for self-defense, weapon retention, and gunshot wound treatment.

Revolver Revolution History Instinctive shooting An unprecedented performance Safeties Materials and finish More plusses Accessories Packaging Model range - Technical Chart Operating instructions Grip instructions Press review Videos 2 When the name “Rhino” was chosen in 2002, nobody could imagine that it would be perfect to reflect not only its solid and compact shape, but the sturdy character of a rhino as well. This is the story of the Rhino revolver. In the summer of 2000 Emilio Ghisoni had already sold his company Ma.te.ba with all the relevant patents, however his passion for firearms was never extinguished, and he was anxious to be again part of the world which had given him a place in the history of firearms. After innovative projects such as Mtr8, 2006, autorevolver and other semiautomatic pistols with “co-axial” feed, what Ghisoni now had in mind was a revolver with 7 chambers, new mechanics and a low barrel, as was his style. He needed to be financed for this project, so he submitted the idea to his friend and architect Antonio Cudazzo, inventor of the FAR system. Cudazzo liked the project but was concerned that it would be a direct competitor with other Ma.te.ba products, as the concept was very similar to former models developed by Ghisoni. He was nevertheless very interested in this innovative firearm, and after a few days returned to Ghisoni, with a project modified according to his previous reflections on ergonomics and a compact shape for revolvers. He proposed to Ghisoni some drawings for a revolver for personal defense.

Subject: Weapons & Items Requests for UC-1.13/DL-1.13/AFS Posted by Wil473 on Mon, 08 Aug 2011 22:28:31 GMT View Forum Message <> Reply to Message Looks like Smeagol beat me to creating one of these. As I am sharing items between the three mods, spinning out a thread for weapon and item requests. Please include at a minimum: - link to more information - rational why I should be adding your favourite gun to three different mods (I've included a list of weapons already in-mod to avoid embarrassing incidents of duplication) - description to item (bonus points if it is usable in-game) - graphics (bonus points if they are usable in-game, and you are the artist so I don't need to track anyone down for permission) Note, that with New Magazine System (NMS) in the works, this thread will be mostly to gather information for future "Advance Capability" versions of the mods that will be created after the current "offical" cycle of v1.13 releases. Specifically NMS, so far, has a few features that not only simplifies adding unique magazine capacities and multiple magazine capacities, but on considering what ChrisL has already stated to be his plans for NMS, features that can be exploited (ie. not ChrisL's intention, but I plan on abusing it for this purpose) to make supporting a common item list between multiple mods much easier... EDIT (2016/10/03): This thread has been replaced by The 2nd Weapons & Items Requests for UC-1.13/DL-1.13/AFS noticed the list was broken when clearing the Sticky flag on this thread.
