The year 2017 marks the centennial year of the birth of late Professor Shyam Bahadur Saksena who was born on 10th August 1917 at Jabalpur in the then Central Provinces and Berar. It is in the fitness of things that Mycological Society of India decided to commemorate the centennial year by dedicating the KAVAKA being Transactions of Mycological Society of India Volume 48(2) of the year 2017 as the commemoration volume marking the centenary year of his birth.
