As a result of the acquisition, our portfolio software service has been rebranded HMH Portfolio, but all the key benefits our clients experience will remain the same. Over the past eight years, we have been fueling innovation for education and life-long learning with our portable, data-driven solution. It has been our mission to directly address the challenges facing educators and students, from Early Education through Career, by focusing on advancing our service’s capabilities, alongside providing excellent customer service. Now, our team is proud to be working together with HMH to discover even more ways our portfolio software service can benefit our clients as we launch our services into this next exciting chapter. What does this mean for our clients? . The SchoolChapters portfolio software service will now be called HMH Portfolio. Our team will provide you with the same excellent products and services. You will continue to see enhancements in the user experience, functionality, and delivery. Our customer service team has grown to further help support our clients! Key Functionality: Unlimited cloud-based storage Holds user-generated or academic content. Imports from other systems like Google Drive Collect and align data to standards or outcomes Portable, powerful solution with responsive design Can integrate with an LMS APIs can facilitate additional options like SIS integration 3 Getting Ready Computer Requirements Here are some tips to help ensure the optimal experience. Internet access HMH Portfolio is a SaaS offering delivered in the cloud, letting you access your account anywhere, anytime with Internet access. HMH Portfolio incorporates responsive design. For tablet use, users may simply log in through the tablet’s browser (Safari or Chrome recommended) for full functionality in their accounts. Our mobile apps for phones are available in the AppStore and Google Play for Android. Key word: SchoolChapters Remote Our offline mobile app is available for iPad and is currently being updated. Further, we recommend that Wi-Fi networks, if in use, are able to support a class of users with adequate upload and download speeds. Browsers For optimal use, we recommend using a browser that supports HTML5, such as recent versions of Chrome and Firefox. If you’re unsure of compatibility, try using an online test such as the one found here: https://html5test.com/index.html We support: Mozilla Firefox 22+, Chrome 25+, IE 10+, Safari 6+. There is a known issue with the uploader when using IE11 that requires users to drag and drop files. Hardware Please ensure computers and tablets are compatible with a recommended browser. HMH Portfolio Users will need a username and password to log in to HMH Portfolio accounts, unless accessing from their school’s LMS. Usernames are email addresses. Other Settings Considerations Allow Third Party Cookies - required for single sign-on (SSO). Please ensure JavaScript is enabled. Allow emails from @schoolchapters.com, @hmhco.com. (email filters) 4 Integration with LMS’s Integration makes things easier for you and your students – providing single sign-on, assignment syncing and grade book integration, for example. HMH Portfolio integrates with many Learning Management Systems (LMS’s) and has an API for use by developers. Here is an overview of our integration capabilities available “off the shelf” along with resources to help you get started quickly and easily. For questions about testing LMS integrations in a staging environment, please contact us. Blackboard Learn Blackboard’s Partner Cloud Building Block (PC) is the recommended integration. Key Capabilities: o Single Sign-On (SSO) - includes account creation and course context Assignment Syncing - assignments in HMH Portfolio can be pulled into the course content area in Blackboard o Grade Center integration – Gradebook columns are automatically created when assignment is synced, Grades in HMH Portfolio automatically flow into the Grade Center via a scheduled web services call or by manual request when needed faster. o HMH Portfolio tools and diagnostics in the Commercial Content Tools panel (Partner Cloud only) o Course Copy Support (Partner Cloud) Get Started: LMS Integration for Blackboard Canvas LTI (IMS Certified) Key Capabilities: o Single Sign-On (SSO) – includes account creation and course context o Assignment Syncing – In Canvas, instructors can create an External Tool assignment to link to a HMH Portfolio assignment. o Grade Center integration – After scoring using rubric in HMH Portfolio, instructors can click a grade pass back tool to send scores to Canvas. Integration– Social Networks Google SSO – log in with Google account. Sync with Google Drive to pull and sync documents from Drive to HMH Portfolio. Facebook SSO – log in with Facebook account. One Share – From your public Story, post a photo to your Facebook account. LinkedIn SSO – log in with LinkedIn account Story Integration – Post updates to your LinkedIn account. Choose to share Story URL with individuals, groups you belong to, or anyone with access to your LinkedIn profile. A great way to leverage your professional networks. Mozilla OpenBadges Sync to push Badges earned in HMH Portfolio to your Mozilla backpack. 6 Tumblr SSO – log in with Tumblr account. One Share – From your public Story, post a photo or document to your Tumblr account. Twitter SSO – log in with Twitter account. One Share – From your public Story, post a photo or document to your Twitter account. For details, click and go to bottom of Help for user Settings.
