Odyssey Manager™: This tour is managed from Delhi airport to Delhi airport by in house trained Indian Odyssey Manager™. They are trained to manage tours for foreign guest and provide customized information based on Guest’s preferences including general information and legends. Odyssey Manager spend 8-12 hours with our Guest after receiving them on their arrival till their depart to make sure all the services are provided as per the itinerary and manage any contingencies arising along the way, saving valuable time of our Guest. Guest can request Odyssey Manager for any possible changes in itinerary or visits along the way. Our guest generally returns back with more than holidays at the end of the trip.

About Easytrek™: Easytrek™ is one of the best ways to explore the nature, historical locations and villages without compromising the basic needs of comfortable stay. Guest can decide to join the easytrek of the day planned between 2 hours to 7 hours or just relax at your hotel and explore the town or village they are staying for the night. Overnight is arranged either in a hotel or guest house or deluxe fixed camp with toilet attached and hot water provided at the end of the day.

Covering the area of 18 sq. km. at a height of 2130m, Shimla is surrounded by pine, deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Its well developed facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions make it one of India's most popular hill-stations.

About -Manali Valley: Blessed with an abundance of natural beauty, Kullu-Manali valley is rightly celebrated as the valley of Gods. Nestled between High Himalayan ranges of Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal with some of the peaks rising over 6500m, about 80 km long, this lush green valley extends from the gorge at Aut (1000m) to starting point of Beas River at Rohtang Pass (3978m), draining melting water from all the glaciers located all around the valley. It harbours evergreen forest, alpine meadows, beautiful rivers and orchard laden with fruits. Manali at an altitude of 2000m is the start point for all sorts of adventure expeditions over the High Himalayas to the Trans Himalayan region.

About Dharamsala: Dharamsala is best known as the home of his holiness the Dalai Lama, the Buddhist spiritual head and Nobel laureate. There is strong Tibetan influence here where large spinning prayer wheels and fluttering colourful prayer flag provide the Tibetan Buddism touch. It is full of Tibetan people, Tibetan monasteries, colorful Tibetan handicraft shops and small restaurants run by young Tibetans entrepreneurs. There are also some Tibetan Research Institutes and small factories producing Tibetan herbal medicines here. Besides the Tibetans, Mcloedganj also have a good population of Gaddis. Gaddi (Tribal Shepherds) are known for their unique nomadic lifestyle of moving with herds of sheep between high pastureland of the Himalayas (above 4000m) in summers to the plains of Punjab in winters. Their source of income was sheep wool.

Bottled Water and Drinks: Every day 1000 ml of bottled water is provided by your Odyssey Manager throughout your stay. We request all our guests to use bottled water especially when brushing teeth to make sure they stay healthy during their stay in India. Beside bottled water all other drinks provided includes all the drinks provided during breakfast at your hotel. Extra soft or hard drinks, bottled water ordered in Restaurants or at your hotel are not included in the cost and need to be paid by the guest.

Tipping/Rewarding: We believe tipping is rewarding the service staff and it is part of the culture in India. Everyone in service industry expects to be rewarded. We encourage rewards for good services by guest. We believe fixed tips become the part of wages and even those who do not perform receives the same reward. Guest needs to be ready to pay petty rewards to hotel staff and city guides and finally be ready to reward your long term service provider like driver and Odyssey Manager and their assistant in case of big group. All rewards need to hand over directly either by the foreign tour leader or by one of the guest on behalf of the group based on performance and courteous services. You can always check with your Odyssey Manager about the tipping or discuss with your agent before flying to India.

I T I N E R A R Y

Day 01: ARRIVE DELHI Arrive Delhi airport. On arrival met by your Odyssey Manager and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: DELHI – CHANDIGARH – SHIMLA – EASYTREK™ Early morning transfer to train station to board on morning Shatabedi train leaving 0740 hour and arriving 1100 hour at Chandigarh. On arrival drive 130 km, 4 hours to Shimla including one hour lunch stop along the way. On arrival visit the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. This institute is housed in the Viceregal Lodge, which was built in 1884-88 during the British times. It has spacious gardens and is ringed by beautiful pine trees. All is calm and serene just the right atmosphere for a student of literature or politics. On completion transfer to Hotel. . Evening drive to and then easytrek™ 1.5 km, 45 minutes down to the Mall to enjoy shopping in pollution free Mall Road, where no vehicular traffic is allowed. Shimla was the Summer Capital of India during British rule and most of the buildings are constructed by Britons.

Day 03: SHIMLA – EASYTREK™ After breakfast transfer to train station to board on World Heritage Kalka – Shimla Railway (KSR) train leaving 1030 hour for short 45 minutes ride to Taradevi. On completion drive to the Mall and enjoy your lunch in one of the selected restaurant. After lunch around 1400 hour, we start our easytrek to Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. This institute is housed in the Viceregal Lodge, which was built in 1884-88 during the British times. It has spacious gardens and is ringed by beautiful pine trees. All is calm and serene just the right atmosphere for a student of literature or politics. A round trip will cover approximately six kilometers passing by lots of interesting historical sites along the route.

Day 04: SHIMLA – MANALI After breakfast drive 270 km to Manali. This journey offers a dramatic changes in nature from Lower Himalayas to Shivalik Himalayas and then again to the lower Himalayas. You will be driving form a hilltop to different valley structures and sometimes driving along different rivers. We would stop at Bajaura to visit Basheshar Mahadev temple with fine stone carvings and sculptures is believed to have been built in the mid 8th century. It is truly an incredible structure. On the banks of the river Beas, roughly about 200 m off the road. On completion drive to Manali.

Day 05: MANALI – EASYTREK™ A day to explore Manali, the queen of the hill stations. Our day starts slowly after breakfast with a easytrek™ from your hotel to a 500 years old wooden carved “ Devi Temple”. The stroll or drive continues further to Old Manali village, which is known after the great Hindu sage Manu. We further walk up to the next village of Goshal Page 2 of 4 and cross our way through River Beas to a very spectacular water fall called Jogni Fall. Next village is Vashishat, where you can see or enjoy the hot sulpher in the springs. If you feel tired of walking, take a tuk tuk ride to the down town. Those who wish to drive can are going to drive from Manu Temple to Vashist Hot Springs. Free evening for own activities.

Day 06: MANALI – SOLANG – SNOW POINT – EASYTREK™ - MANALI Morning drive to Solang to enjoy paragliding or skiing (Optional). Continue to Snow Point which is the maximum approachable road towards Rohtang Pass depending on the snow condition (3978m). Between July to October, you can arrive on top of Rohtang Pass and view the peaks, mountains and glaciers of Chandra-Bhaga range. Most of the peaks in CB range are above 5000m and covered with snow all round the year. On arrival at the maximum point we start our easytrek™ further 1.30 hours to reach higher to get better view of the Himalayas. After enjoying our packed lunch at the highest point we reach, we trek down to our vehicle and drive back to Manali.

Day 07: MANALI - DHARAMSALA Early morning drive 260 km 8-9 hours to Dharamsala (including visiting places) stopping at the Town of Shiva – Baijnath and visit the 13 th century Shiva temple.According to legend the Demon king of Lanka Ravana (Who have got 10 head) as per epic offered his nine head to Lord Shiva for the boon of immortality. But the Shiva was not impressed, finally he decides to offer his tenth head and Lord Shiva was pleased with his willingness to sacrifice his heads and blessed him with a Shivlinga. The moment when Ravana rested the Shivling on the ground at this place it became so heavy that he couldn’t manage to carry it and take it to his kingdom Lanka, so he constructed a temple dedicated to Shiva at the present site. The same Shivling is in this temple till date.

After visiting Baijnath drive to Chamuda Devi temple dedicated to Goddess Kali (Goddess of War) on the bank of Baner River. Religious lore has that the Devtas (Gods) were harassed by two demons Chanda and Munda. A Shakti (Power) emerged as the result of prayer of Lord Brahma (Generator) by the Devatas in the form of Goddess Kali, who killed the demon in fierce battle. You can also discuss with your tour leader to stop at few more interesting locations along the way like Tashi Jong Monastery or Shanan Hydel project. On arrival transfer to Hotel.

Day 08: DHARAMSALA – EASYTREK™ After breakfast drive to visit Norbulinga Institute known for its various schools of Tibetan paintings and handicraft training. Return back to Mcleaodganj for Lunch and visit Dalai Lama monastery and Tibet Museum. The Tibet museum was established with the aim of presenting Tibet’s history and visions for its future through texts, photographs, videos and installations. The main exhibition features, "A long look homeward". It is divided into two sections: the first floor presents the Chinese occupation of Tibet and its results, and the second one displays Tibet’s past and hopes for its future. After lunch easytrek™ towards Triund for around 1.30 hour and trek back to your Hotel after enjoying good views of the Dauladhar Himalayas.

Day 09: DHARAMSALA - AMRITSAR After experiencing the Tibetan philosophy and their life in India, drive 4-5 hours (200 km) to Amritsar. Amritsar - the holy town of Sikhs, has grown from a sacred village pond into a spiritual temporal center of Sikh culture. The city gets its name from the pool - Amritsar (Pool of Nectar), which was constructed by the fourth religious preceptor of the Sikh faith. Golden Temple or Darbar Sahib is the most sacred temple for Sikhs. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of the Sikh people all over the world. Its architecture includes, symbols associated with other places of worship. This is an example of the spirit of tolerance and acceptance that the Sikh philosophy propounds.

Afternoon drive to visit Bhaga Border. Wagah, on the India-Pakistan Border - Against the backdrop of the setting sun, a crowd gathers along a remote country road to witness an event part circus, part nationalistic ritual — but all spectacle. In a ceremony that takes place every day at sunset, soldiers from each side lower their nations' flags in mirror-image displays of high-step marching and jingoistic posturing that routinely draw thousands of onlookers to Wagah, a border post located on both sides of the Pakistan-India line. Cheers runs down from the packed, stadium-style stands along, as celebrants danced to the rousing beats of Punjabi pop music pumping from large loudspeakers. Indian flags emblazoned with “I love my India,” in bold capital letters. Across the border, a crowd of Pakistanis chant patriotic slogans and waved versions of their own flag.
