Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning Section 1: Program Abstract Current Approved: The Bachelor of Applied Arts (Interaction Design) program prepares graduates for professional practice in the design and communications industries. Students integrate design, communication, planning and technical knowledge, skills and theoretical frameworks to produce innovative solutions to interaction design challenges. Graduates are able to adapt to the increasingly global technological, business and cultural environment. Creative maturity, personal development and individual specialization will be reflected in graduate portfolios. Additionally, graduates will have a solid grounding in theory and history and strong business and professional practice preparation. The program offers the degree level credential typical of interaction design education internationally, offering opportunities for research and further study. Proposed: The Honours Bachelor of Interaction Design degree program prepares graduates for professional practice in the design and communications industries. Students integrate design, communication, planning and technical knowledge, as well as skills and theoretical frameworks to produce innovative solutions to interaction design challenges. Graduates have the opportunity to enter into a diverse range of sectors that require interaction design skills, such as; financial, healthcare, retail, entertainment, media, education, and government. The program develops the capacity of graduates to adapt to an increasingly global technological, business and cultural environment. Creative maturity, personal development and individual specialization will be reflected in graduate portfolios. Additionally, graduates will have a solid grounding in interaction design theory and history and strong business and professional practice preparation.
