An exploration of 's “sunshine region,” the Algarve, that combines the beauty of the landscape with the flavors of the country's local cuisine, for a look at Portugal through a foodie and cultural lens. Spend two nights in the Algarve and two in Lisbon (one post-cruise) to see highlights, connect with local people, and discover the country’s wines and cuisine.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 This morning, you’ll be met at the port and escorted to in the Algarve—known for its three Michelin- starred restaurants—visiting the UNESCO world heritage town of Évora, Portugal’s most beautifully preserved medieval town, en route. Whilst here, visit Giraldo Square, the Templo de Diana, the St. Francis Church and its

famous Chapel of Bones, and wander the grounds of the university, one of Europe’s oldest. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll continue onto Almancil. This evening, dinner will be at your .

Day 2 Today, begins breakfast at the hotel, followed by a boat tour of Ria Formosa National Park, a scenic swirl of freshwater lagoons, sandy islands, and lush salt marshlands. Then venture onto the town of Olhão, the Algarve’s largest fishing port, to explore its famous market, meet local vendors, and learn about the region’s foods and cuisines. After, head back Almancil for a traditional lunch with a local family, before taking a trip to the Castelo in Silves, for terrific views over the town and surrounding countryside. Then progresses to Cape St. Vincent, the so-called “end of the world,” and Sagres, the only place in the world where white storks are known to rest on cliff faces.

Day 3 Enjoy your morning at leisure with breakfast at the hotel before being escorted to the train station for your transfer to Lisbon. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and taken to your hotel, where you’ll have plenty of time to freshen up and relax, before this evening’s special wine tasting followed by a gourmet dinner and performance at a Fado club.

Day 4

Enjoy a leisurely morning with breakfast at the hotel. Explore independently or just relax. At the appointed time, you’ll be escorted to the airport for your onward flight.

All programs have a limited capacity and are available on a first-come basis. A minimum number of guests is required to operate this Land Journey. Should that minimum not be met, the program will be repriced and guests will have the option to cancel or repurchase at the new selling price. Cancellation penalties begin 120 days prior to sailing and will include any non-refundable air costs.
