The cinema of David Fincher in between genre and auteur film 84 Seiten, Hochschule Mittweida, University of Applied Sciences, Fakultät Medien, Bachelorarbeit, 2016 Abstract Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird der Thriller Verblendung (2011) analysiert und mit dem Schaffen des Regisseurs David Fincher in Beziehung gesetzt. Ziel ist es darzustellen, ob es sich bei Verblendung um einen typischen "Fincher-Thriller" handelt. Einer Be- schreibung der theoretischen Grundlage zur Geschichte des Thrillers und dessen Merkmalen folgt eine Vertiefung zum Film noir sowie dem Neo Noir. Aufbauend darauf wird zur Filmographie Finchers hingeleitet, um den Stil des Regisseurs zu untersuchen und damit die, für die Gegenüberstellung der Filme relevanten, Charakteristika heraus- zuarbeiten. Einleitung Vor der weltweiten Premiere schrieben mehrere Zeitungen "Verblendung - Der neue Fincher-Thriller" (Focus, 2012; Welt, 2012). Doch ist Verblendung tatsäch- lich ein für David Fincher typischer Thriller? Mit dem Erscheinen von Verblendung umfasste Finchers Werk von 1992 bis 2011 neun Spielfilme, davon sind Sieben Filme dem Genre Thriller zuzuordnen. Dabei hat jeder Film eine eigene Thematik, Aussage, und Dramaturgie und steht zunächst für sich allein. Die verwendeten Stilmittel und Arbeitsweisen des Regis- seurs unterscheiden sich oftmals sehr, sodass die Einordnung eines Films in sein Gesamtwerk oder ein Genre nicht immer problemlos möglich ist. Mit der großen Anzahl an Filmen in denen David Fincher Regie geführt hat, ist die Basis für einen Vergleich seiner jeweiligen Arbeitsweise geschaffen; dabei werden für eine umfassende Filmographie auch seine beiden Dramen mit einbe- zogen. Mit einer detaillierten Analyse seiner Filme wird untersucht, ob sie für Fincher typische Merkmale aufweisen und Handlungsmuster erkennbar sind; im Ergebnis ist in diesem Zusammenhang die Eingangsfrage zu beantworten. Zunächst erfolgt die Begriffsklärung für "Thrill", "Suspense" und "Conspiracy", um eine gesicherte Grundlage für die weiteren Ausführungen zu geben. Nach einer Einführung in das Genre Thriller und dessen Historie folgen vertiefende Darstel- lungen zum „Film noir“ sowie dem „Neo-Noir“, dem sich Finchers Filme oftmals zuordnen lassen. Der Biografie Finchers schließt sich seine Filmografie an, die alle Spielfilme bis zum Erscheinen von Verblendung umfasst. Die anschließende strukturfunktionale Filmanalyse von Verblendung gibt detailliert Aufschluss über dessen Inhalt, Struktur, Figuren und Stil. In einem Fazit werden diese Analyseergebnisse zusammengefasst und mit den Untersuchungen der Filmographie verglichen, um eine Einordnung von Verblen- dung in das Gesamtwerk David Finchers zu erreichen und eine Antwort auf die zentrale Fragestellung dieser Arbeit zu geben. 2 2. Una vez fijado el objetivo, los motivos por los que se ha elegido este tema y este objeto de estudio son, por una parte, el interés personal acerca de la utilización de esta técnica en el mundo cinematográfico y por otra, la capacidad narrativa de dicho director. Además, Fincher logra emplazar la publicidad de una manera tan sutil que en ocasiones pasa desapercibida. Para esta investigación, primero se ha llevado a cabo una aproximación teórica donde se han recogido los conceptos principales. En este caso han sido el origen del product placement y su importancia, además de su uso y los tipos de emplazamientos que se pueden emplear, y por otro lado se ha analizado la figura de David Fincher, desde sus inicios en la industria cinematográfica hasta sus últimos trabajos, examinando también su cine y su técnica narrativa. Después se ha escogido la metodología de la investigación, que se basa en un análisis exhaustivo de las cinco películas de su filmografía pertenecientes a la categoría de suspense.

Dopo il diploma, con un percorso di formazione pieno di successi, si presenta alla Korty Films del regista/sceneggiatore John Korty e, poco dopo, passa alla prestigiosa Industrial Light & Magic di George Lucas, dove trova l'occasione di esprimere il talento visionario che lo caratterizza: è assistente agli effetti visivi ne Il ritorno dello Jedi (1983) e in Indiana Jones e il tempio maledetto (1984) di Lucas, e ne La storia infinita (1984) di Wolfgang Petersen. Alla fine del 1984 interrompe la collaborazione con il padre delle "guerre stellari" e decide di prendere in mano la macchina da presa per girare alcuni tra i più importanti spot pubblicitari degli anni Novanta. Nel frattempo fonda la casa di produzione Propaganda Films assieme ai colleghi Dominic Sena, Greg Gold e Nigel Dick e continua le sperimentazioni visive con la realizzazione di videoclip musicali di artisti del calibro di Madonna, George Michael, Aerosmith, Nine Inch Nails, Rolling Stones e numerosi altri artisti dello scenario musicale. Seppur non abbandonerà mai la regia di videoclip musicali, nel 1992 passa alla regia cinematografica.
