DEUTSCHE BANK CHAMPIONSHIP SURPASSES $10 MILLION IN CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS

2007 Deutsche Bank Championship generated record $3.3 million for as part of the inaugural PGA TOUR Playoffs

NORTON, MASS. (February 13, 2008) The Deutsche Bank Championship set another Championship charity record in 2007 by generating $3.3 million for the Tiger Woods Learning Center, the Stop & Shop Family , Camp Harbor View and several other New England charities. In its five-year history, the Championship has already surpassed the $10 million mark in charitable contributions.

The Deutsche Bank Championship has become Boston’s PGA TOUR tradition on Labor Day weekend, and its list of past champions is a who’s who among professional golf: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Adam Scott and Olin Browne. With the support of its Founders Club Partners, Official Partners, fans and “ Crew” volunteers, the Deutsche Bank Championship will continue to provide the ultimate PGA TOUR experience and make a lasting impact in its community.

The primary beneficiary of the Deutsche Bank Championship is the Tiger Woods Learning Center (TWLC). The TWLC is a youth educational facility that helps thousands of students from diverse backgrounds broaden their perspectives of the world, explore their interests and investigate new possibilities for the future. This unique mission also carries through to many of the local charities throughout New England that benefit from the Championship. In conjunction with the Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation, the Championship also supports Boston Children’s Chorus, Casa Myrna Vazquez, City Kicks, Generations Incorporated, Mother Caroline Academy, Nativity Preparatory School, Partners for Youth with Disabilities, The Writers’ Express and The Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (YEA). Each of these charities shares with the Tiger Woods Foundation and the Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation a commitment to support America’s youth.

“Deutsche Bank and all our partners in the Deutsche Bank Championship are extremely gratified to achieve another record year of support for our local communities,” said Seth Waugh, CEO of Deutsche Bank Americas. “We are committed to being a good corporate citizen in the communities where we live and work, so we are extremely proud to support such a worthy group of organizations. We commend everyone involved with the Deutsche Bank Championship, as well as those from the Tiger Woods Learning Center and all the local charities for the important work they do and for their instrumental role in our success.”

A significant component to the success of the Deutsche Bank Championship’s charity work is the support of its Founders Club Partners. In 2007, Stop & Shop continued its charitable efforts by hosting its Stop & Shop Family Foundation Pro-Am on Monday of Championship week. The event raised more than $1 million for well-deserving charities in New England.

“This unique program, along with our other charitable initiatives, allows the Deutsche Bank Championship to make a tangible and lasting impact in the local communities,” said Eric Baldwin, Director of the Deutsche Bank Championship. “The Deutsche Bank Championship is proud to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing organizations both throughout New England and nationally.”

The Deutsche Bank Championship exudes a spirit of giving throughout the year by participating in and organizing different programs and events such as the Deutsche Bank Partners for Charity event, the Deutsche Bank Championship Charity Appreciation Day, youth golf clinics, educational programs and live and silent auctions.

Another key component to the Deutsche Bank Championship’s charitable efforts is the Birdies for Charity program. Launched in 2006, Birdies for Charity is a pledge-based program that allows fans and corporations to contribute directly to the charity of their choice while connecting themselves to the Championship. In 2007, the Birdies for Charity program raised more than $300,000 for well deserving charities.

The PGA TOUR reached the $1 billion milestone in charitable contributions in 2005. Since the TOUR’s first recorded of $10,000 in 1938, more than 2,000 charities and one million lives have been helped annually.
