In anticipation and preparation for this year's long-awaited Fiesta, San Antonio Zoo has released its 2021 fiesta medal, which is available to purchase beginning today. A majestic bald eagle adorns the zoo's 2021 Fiesta medal, which celebrates the dedication of the zoo's updated bald eagle habitat earlier this year. The medal sells for $10.95 and is available for purchase at the zoo's 's Pride, Nanyuki, and Train Depot gift shops or online, https://san-antonio- zoo.square.site/. The medal will also be available at The Fiesta Store.

Fiesta medal collectors can also purchase the unique five-medal 2020 collection, including medals of iconic zoo treasures Cowboy's 1st Fiesta, Kiddie Park, Chupacabra, Will Smith Zoo School, Center for Conservation & Research, Horned Lizard medal. Limited-edition box sets are available for $49.95.

On March 4, the San Antonio Zoo celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new eagle habitat, which gave the zoo's two Bald eagles a new home. The eagles were rescued, rehabilitated, and serve as ambassadors for their species. Chinook, the male eagle, was injured near an airport in Washington state, and Haley, the female eagle, was found shot in Ohio.
