This was all due to the conducive environment of KIET.I would like to give details of my Journey Year wise... FIRST YEAR- Support from faculty in understanding the curriculum of Engineering and study pattern is immense and outstanding in first year and the transition from school life to college life was smooth. SECOND YEAR- This was the year when I was introduced to the core syllabus of the branch which i have selected. One thing which i want to emphasise here is, that selection of EN instead of EE by college administration is very wise decision as, syllabus of EN( and not EE) matches with question level of reputated exams like CSE,ESE etc. THIRD YEAR-In this year too, Faculty support through theory and practicals helped me to enhance further my grip on core subjects. Contd.. Brief Success Stories FINAL YEAR- During this year, selective subjects like wireless communication, Renewable energies and resources, Digital Signal processing,Satellite Communication , Neural networks and artificial Intelligence etc. gave glimpse to the wider application of Electrical and Electronics. My Final Year project of " Hardware Implementation of ZSI“ was the latest topic under research at internaltional forum too, as first IEEE paper on it was published in year 2002 by Mr. Feng. Apart of Academics, life at KIET is full of technical and cultural fest. PLACEMENTS- Almost eveyone of my batch was landed with Job in reputated firms like Cummins, Kirloskar,Tata Motors, Wipro, Infosys, TCS etc.with good pacakges.Wide exposure to Interview and placement tests prepare one for facing interview at other wider platforms too. All in all, sincere efforts of four years, professional grooming in Final year Placement months, conducive environment of college and support and guidance from esteemed faculty landed me with the courage to not only clear the reputated exams like BARC, SJVNL, ESE but also to get the reputated service of IRSEE,in Indian Railways where I am presently working as Assitant Divisional Electrical Engineer , Vadodara Division , Western Railways, Gujarat. I want to extend my deep gratitude and sincere thanks to esteemed Faculty of KIET and my Colleagues, under whose able guidance and in whose company , I blossomed.I wish that more laurels anf honours are brought by current students to my Alma Mater KIET. Brief Success Stories Name: Anurag Singh Course: B.Tech (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) Designation: Systems Engineer Organization: Infosys Currently, I am working in Infosys as Systems Engineer in Mumbai. I handle Data Migration for Bank of Baroda E-banking project. Lot of things changed just after college. But overall, it was for good. About college, that 4 years were best days of my life. The one professor about whom I still talk with my friends is Dr SKT Sir! Well, he scolds the most, but in end we all loved him the most. Being alumni of one of the top most college of Delhi-NCR, I really feel very proud to be part of it and I would love to see it become one of the best college in India in coming years.

  • Analysis on Indian Power Supply Situation and Policies
IEEJ:July 2018 © IEEJ2018 Analysis on Indian Power Supply Situation and Policies National Expansion of Successful Electric Power Reform “Gujarat State Model” Jun Makita* Summary India features robust demand for the development of infrastructure including electric power and is expected to drive the world economy as a manufacturing base and a giant market. However, about 240 million people, close to one-fifth of the Indian population, live without electric power. Blackouts are frequent, indicating an unstable electric power supply environment. Narendra Modi, who was elected India’s 18th prime minister in May 2014, has vowed to supply electric power 24 hours a day, seven days a week, indicating his determination to promote domestic electric power development. Cited as the largest factor behind his election as prime minister are an electric power reform and other successful policies in Gujarat state when he served as the state’s chief minister from 2001 to 2014. Particularly, the electric power reform is called the Gujarat state model, gaining high ratings. In response to people’s strong wish to see the expansion of the reform’s fruits throughout India, Prime Minister Modi is now tackling the national expansion of the reform. Stable power supply is such an important policy challenge supporting national development. In this paper, Chapter 1 reviews India’s present situation and future outlook regarding economy, energy, electric power supply and demand, and an existing supply-demand gap. Chapter 2 summarizes India’s present electric power business arrangements, power supply conditions and numerous challenges facing India. Chapter 3 analyzes the Gujarat state model cited in the subtitle, delving into the electric power reform that Modi as chief minister of Gujarat state promoted to eliminate blackouts and into the reform’s fruits such as electric power quality improvements.

Power sector is the backbone of industrial, commercial and agricultural sector and as Indian industries across sectors ramped up their capacities in the decade gone by, generation of power as well as its distribution gained immediate attention from the authorities to support India’s growth story. The Power sector in India is categorized into three major segments viz. Generation, Transmission and Distribution. Electricity generation refers to generation of power from primary sources of energy which is commonly expressed in kilowatt-hours (kWh). Electricity generation capacities in India are classified on the basis of ownership. State governments collectively account for ~40% of the total generation capacity, followed by private players (~31%) and central government (~29%) . India’s power generation capacity has increased from ~143GW in FY08 to ~223 GW in FY13, witnessing a CAGR of ~11.8%. • Civil and Infrastructure Engineering
Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur AGENDA ITEM 22.2.3 of 22nd Meeting of Senate on 31 July 2020 (Friday) 03:00 pm at Board Room, IIT Jodhpur Annexure AP22-3 Concept Note Curriculum of UG program 2020 Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering IIT Jodhpur CI#1 1. Introduction The rapidly urbanizing society and increasing quality of life demand reliable and intelligent infrastructure systems which are capable of catering to the societal needs at different scales – from an individual to the community level. Consequently, the civil and infrastructure industry has undergone profound changes and is constantly evolving. However, the new-age designs and innovations in the civil and infrastructure industry can only be driven by a group of engineering graduates having multidisciplinary training and a sound understanding of emerging technologies. Through this undergraduate program in “Civil & Infrastructure Engineering”, IIT Jodhpur is making a stride to re-imagine the course structure that incorporates and integrates the elements of conventional civil engineering with advanced transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cyber- physical-systems (CPS), digital twins (DT), and automated management and information systems. Additionally, a major thrust is also planned on the design, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale integrated infrastructure systems across different domains. 2. Objective of the program ● To provide an expanded but holistic understanding of different civil and infrastructure systems and an in-depth understanding of the differences, similarities, and relations between different scales and components of it. ● To produce graduates with an ability to integrate conventional methods with emerging technologies to design intelligent civil and infrastructure systems from a multidisciplinary perspective.
