This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract Argentine ant invasion changed colour-polymorphic composition of ant-mimetic jumping spider Myrmarachne in southwestern Japan. In Argentine ant-free sites, most of Myrmarachne exhibited all-blackish colouration. In Argentine ant-infested sites, on the other hand, blackish morph de- creased, and bicoloured (i.e. partly bright-coloured) morphs increased in dominance. Invasive Argentine ant drives away native blackish ants. Disappearance of blackish model ants supposedly led to malfunction of Batesian mimicry of Myrmarachne. Introduction It has attracted attention of biologists that many arthropods morphologically and/or behaviorally resemble ants [1]-[4]. Resemblance of non-ant arthropods to aggressive and/or unpalatable ants is called myrmecomorphy (ant-mimicry). Especially, spider myrmecomorphy has been described through many literatures [5]-[9]. Myr- mecomorphy is considered to be an example of Batesian mimicry gaining protection from predators. -

Paride Dioli Gli Eterotteri (Heteroptera) del Monte Barro I (Italia, Lombardia, Lecco) ~f, Riassunto - Nel corso di una ricerca sugli Eterotteri del Monte Barro sono state censite 169 specie, di cui 13 vengono segnalate per la prima volta in Lombardia. Esse sono: Bothynotus pilosus, Dicyphus annulatus, Phytocoris dimidiatus, Pina• litus atomarius, Heterocordylus tumidicornis, Globiceps horvathi, Driophylocoris flavoquadrimaculatus, Harpocera thoraci• ca, Heterocapillus tigripes, Berytinus minor, Berytinus clavipes, Heterogaster cathariae e Megalonotus dilatatus. Sono state inoltre confrontate mediante una cluster analysis le nove principali stazioni di campionamento delle specie. Dal punto di vi• sta zoogeografico è emerso che la maggior parte delle specie presenta ampia distribuzione in Asia ed Europa, mentre l'e• lemento mediterraneo è scarsamente rappresentato, anche in relazione all'assenza di piante ospiti stenomediterranee. LOAN Biosystematics Research Institute, Agriculture Canada, Research Branch, Ottawa KlA 0C6 Resume Nous avons e'eve des Euphorines parasites (14 espbces de Peristenus et 4 de Leiophron) b partir de 28 especes de Mirides, recoltes pres de Belleville, Ontario. Nous avons, en plus, obtenu plusieurs immatures d'Euphorines indeterminees chez 24 autres espbces d'hotes. Les parasites de chaque espece se rencontrent dans les nymphes d'une ou plusieurs especes de mirides. La majorite des hates et tous les parasites nont qu'une seule generation annuelle. L'attaque des para- sites ne se produit que durant la periode nymphale de I'hote. Les adultes hivernent en diapause, dans les cocons. Le taux de parasitisme est de 16 6 64%. Abstract Euphorine parasites, comprising 14 species of Peristenus and four of Leio- phron, were reared from 28 plant bug species collected near Belleville, Ontario. Immature, unidentifiable euphorines were found in 24 other host species. Each of the parasite species attacked nymphs of one or more plant bugs. Most of the hosts, and all the parasites have one generation per year. Parasitism was limited to the portion of the season when the host(s) was in the nymphal stage. The over- wintered parasites were inactive as diapausing adults in cocoons until the growing season of the following year. From 16-64 per cent of host nymphs were parasitized. In systematic review a total of eighty four species in twenty eight genera of Phylines are recognized from the Korean Peninsula. During this study, twenty new reports including six new species were investigated; and purposed a synonym and revised recombination. Keys to genera and species, diagnosis, descriptions including male and female genitalia, illustrations and short biological notes are provided for each of the species. -
