MASPALOMAS – 11th / 22nd July 2016

FOREWORD

The Maspalomas Rotary Club, together with the Rotary Clubs of Arucas, de , Lanzarote, the Municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) are launching the second CAMP, the International Meeting, at Maspalomas Costa Canaria, during the second half of July, in coincidence with the Summer University courses that take place in that municipality since 25 years ago. All activities are included within a programme that offers a great variety of cultural occasions: concerts, conferences and workshops in Maspalomas, at the San Fernando Cultural Center, the Social Cultural Center and the Casa Condal.

PROGRAMME OF THE MEETING

The Meeting – CAMP - will consist of two full day workshops on issues regarding peace, conflict solution, non violence in sports, the advantages that participating in a solidarity project can add to a CV, the challenges and dangers of internet and social networks, precautions, overcoming adversities and many other topics. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided into English.

The following nine days will be dedicated to enjoy outdoor and nautical sports: surfing, beach paddle, kayak excursions, participation in the traditional festivities of Maspalomas and much more. Living quarters will be provided in bungalows around a pool, and sports and other activities will be held in the nearby dunes of Maspalomas.

Do come with enthusiasm and joy, bring comfortable sport wear and don’t forget your bathing suits…We will not only be attending conferences!

CONDITIONS TO PARTICIPATE.

The sponsoring Clubs will send a request to the Rotary Club of Maspalomas ([email protected]) before April 30th., with all personal data of their pupils: age, addresses, contact telephones and travel information if possible.

The Rotary Club of Maspalomas will send a formal acceptance communication so that all necessary steps be taken to ease and allow entry permits into Spain.

Support to participants sponsored by Rotary Clubs includes:

1. Transport from and to the airport of Gran Canaria, to the conference venues and to excursions. In order to provide airport transportation the participants will provide full information on their arrival and departure dates, airlines and flight numbers. 2. Lodging and full board from 11th to 22nd July. 3. Free access to museums and other institutions included in the programme. 4. Participation in the “Workshops for Peace”. Upon completion of the workshop a Diploma will be issued by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Participation fee is 550 Euro per person. This amount is to be paid as follows:
