In the summer of 2011 over four years ago, Bryan Klein and I met for coffee and chatted about nothing more than a vision. I’m proud and humbled to say this vision has spawned a way of life for tens of thousands of people around the country. So the story goes like this – My oldest son, Joseph, had been taking karate @ UTA since 2009. During this time our economy was struggling, however UTA was grow- ing. On numerous occasions I watched Bryan engage his students in a fun manner while always encouraging them to raise their bar to the next level. One day I walked up to him and said “Hey I like how you run your business, would you mind if I bought you a coffee and pick your brain?” I know I took him off guard because of the way he tilted his head and cau- tiously said “sure”. After we got strange looks from both of our wives respectively we met at Starbucks on Rt 9. Little did we know this meeting would change 10 weeks straight.
