Once you have practiced with your work sheets, you are now ready to draw the designs you chose on to your project. Using the Pentex friction pen, draw the guide lines for quilting in each of the sections you have chosen.(remember that these drawings will iron away so if you make a mistake just take your project to the iron and iron your mistakes away and begin again.)

Sewing/Quilting: . You need to think of this as a continuous line, you will go over your stitches, set the speed on the HUSQVARNA VIKING® sewing machine to medium. Start from one of the inner sections of your drawing. First bring up your bobbin thread to the top of your project and stitch in place. away the two threads (top and bobbin). Begin to follow the drawn lines in the section. If you find you are very wobbly, speed up, you will have more control. Move from section to section going over your drawn lines. When you finish check your work. You may want to add more quilting.

Coloring: When all the quilting is finished, take the Sharpie stain pen and color sections of your piece. (see diagrams) You will choose how to color/accent your work.

1. Make sure the needle in the HUSQVARNA VIKING® PLATINUM 16, is the correct one for the fabric you are quilting. 2. Thread all three holes in the 3 hole thread guide. Wrap around from the front to the back on each one. 3. Always floss your thread into the tension disks. 4. Always check the bobbin tension first, before you check the top tension. Follow the instructions written in the users guide. 5. Tighten or loosen your top tension for each project. This means from a quarter turn to 4 turns around, depending on the thread used. 6. Clean out the bobbin case with a soft brush, and only oil when needed, one drop on the hook system.
