Early life Wells was born in Moncton, New Brunswick and moved to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia when he was eight years old. In January 2006, The Globe and Mail published an article that revealed that Wells was a distant cousin of former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. In 2004, Wells appeared with John Paul Tremblay and John Dunsworth in Running Virginia starring Gabriel Byrne and Joan Whalley, playing characters similar to their trailer Park Boys characters. Wells also starred in The Bundock Saints 2. In 2010, Wells reunited with many of his former Park Boys teammates in the new series The Drunk and On Drugs Happy Fun Hour. Wells appeared in the film Hobo with a shotgun, in theaters March 25, 2011. During the credits for Hobo with shotgun, Wells' name is incorrectly written as Rob Wells. In August 2011, Wells starred in the independent film Jackhammer, shot in Victoria, British Columbia. Wells also appeared as a radical Nova Scotia separatist freedom fighter/terrorist in the FX series Archer in his third season in an episode entitled Limited. His trailer park boys co-stars Tremblay and Mike Smith are also credited with voice-over roles in the episode. Wells also starred in the 2012 horror film You Rather as Peter. In October 2012, Wells, along with Tremblay and Smith, signed a contract to return to Trailer Park Boys for the third film, which began filming in March 2013 and was released on April 18, 2014. On July 4, 2013, it was announced that Wells, Tremblay and Smith had acquired the rights to Trailer Park Boys and confirmed that they would return with the eighth and ninth seasons, which will be broadcast on the SwearNet.com. In 2014, it was announced that Seasons 8 and 9 of Trailer Park Boys would be shown on Netflix from September 5, 2014. In 2014, Wells co-wrote, co-wrote and co-produced Swearnet with his Fellow Trailer Park Boys. He is the co-founder of the company and Swearnet.com appears in sketches for the Internet media channel. His father was a forensic expert at the RCMP. Robb later attended high school with Mike Klattenberg and John Paul Tremblay. All three always pulled practical jokes on people and get into trouble. They had a strange sense of humor. While Tremblay and Wells worked a successful pizza chain called JR Capone, they decided to pass the time of making a crude parody video about themselves. In 1998, they made a short film with current veteran John Dunsworth titled One Last Shot. The film won the award for Best Actor and Best Cinematography. A year later, they made a mocking film called Trailer Park Boys featuring newcomers Patrick Roach, Mike Jackson, Corey Bowles, Lucy Decuter and Gene Harrison. During filming, they met a sound mixer named Mike Smith, and after filming was completed, they struck a deal with Showcase to make the Trailer Park Boys in a television series with Mike Smith on board. After the series was illuminated in green, attractive bubbles were born. Now there are three main characters in the park. In addition, their day jobs as restaurant managers in Nova Scotia and as sound mixers, Wells, John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith are Canadian television icons to this day. The television series, Trailer Park Boys which was created by Mike Clattenburg premiered in April, 2001 and focusses on the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents living in fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park located near Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. The series remains a huge success on Showcase and has been broadcast worldwide including in the US where BBC America aired a censored version of the show. In 2006, Trailer Park Boys: The Movie was released and was the highest grossing film in Canada for its first weekend in release. And just last month, they released their second feature film, Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day. The Ricky, Julian and Bubbles Community Service Variety Show is a live theatre show performed, in character, by Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith. The show is born out of the premise that Ricky, Julian and Bubbles are in the audience’s hometown to fulfill court ordered community service requirements by performing a puppet show aimed at demonstrating the dangers of using alcohol and drugs.
