European Drag Reduction and Flow Control Meeting Bad Herrenalb (Karlsruhe) March 26-29 2019 Scientific Program v. 1.5 (March 24, 2019) EDRFCM covers a number of subjects related to drag reduc- tion and flow noise control, including: riblets and surface rough- ness, compliant walls, polymer surfactant additives, synthetic jets, super-hydrophobic and coated surfaces, flexible structures, wall os- cillations, traveling waves, flow separation control, plasma flow con- trol and electro-magnetic control. The organisers of the 2019 edition are Dr. Davide Gatti (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), Prof. Bettina Frohnapfel (Karlsruhe Insti- tute of Technology) and Kwing-So Choi (University of Nottingham). The meeting takes place at Haus der Kirche in Bad Herrenalb, a health resort grown up around a Cistercian monastery founded in 1148 and immersed in the northern Black Forest. We investigate conditions under which it can also be understood as a fuzzied recognizable tree language. In this sense, sucient conditions are presented which, when imposed, ensure that every cut set, i.e., the pre-image of a prime lter of the carrier set, is a recognizable tree language. Moreover, such conditions are also presented for cut sets of recognizable tree series. 1 Introduction There are two sources for the investigations in this paper, namely (i) fuzzy sets and (ii) tree series and recognizable tree series, in particular. Dossier de presse INFRASTRUCTURES SCOLAIRES Investir dans les infrastructures scolaires, c’est investir dans l’avenir des élèves Rentrée scolaire 2016-2017 4 juillet 2019 INFRASTRUCTURES SCOLAIRES Investir dans les infrastructures scolaires, c’est investir dans l’avenir des élèves Le gouvernement investit dans l’éducation et l’avenir de tous les élèves. De la petite enfance à la formation professionnelle, il s’attelle à diversifier l’offre des parcours ainsi que les concepts et méthodes pédagogiques, et à moderniser ainsi l’ensemble du système éducatif luxembourgeois pour répondre à l’hétérogénéité croissante de la population d’élèves. Les infrastructures scolaires n’échappent pas à ce mouvement : elles se créent, s’agrandissent, se rénovent, se diversifient, au service des élèves, de leur réussite et de leur épanouissement. Une école est bien plus qu’un simple bâtiment. C’est un lieu d’apprentissage bien entendu mais aussi un lieu de vie, où les élèves, et leurs enseignants, passent une grande partie de la journée, notamment dans les écoles à journée continue. Avec un programme ambitieux de construction et d’extension d’infrastructures scolaires, le gouvernement veut créer les meilleures conditions possibles pour stimuler la motivation et les apprentissages des élèves. Ainsi, 1,3 milliards euros seront investis dans la création de 2 nouvelles écoles : un lycée pilote dans le sud du pays et une école européenne publique à Luxembourg-Ville 8 nouvelles constructions pour des écoles existantes : l’École nationale pour adultes, le Sportlycée, le Lycée technique de Bonnevoie, le Nordstadlycée, le Lycée technique pour professions de santé (siège), le Lycée Mondorf, le Lycée technique du Centre, le Lycée Michel Lucius 5 projets d’extension / de réaménagement : le Lycée Edward Steichen à Clervaux, l’École internationale de Differdange et d’Esch à Mondercange, l’École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg, le Centre de logopédie, le Campus Geesseknäppchen. -

DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING, FINANCE & ECONOMICS GRIFFITH BUSINESS SCHOOL GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY Submitted in fulfilment of the requirements of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy July 2006 ii ABSTRACT This thesis describes the rail gauge decision-making processes of the Australian colonies in the period 1850 – 1901. Federation in 1901 delivered a national system of railways to Australia but not a national railway system. Thus the so-called “standard” gauge of 4ft. 8½in. had not become the standard in Australia at Federation in 1901, and has still not. It was found that previous studies did not examine cause and effect in the making of rail gauge choices. This study has done so, and found that rail gauge choice decisions in the period 1850 to 1901 were not merely one-off events. Rather, those choices were part of a search over fifty years by government representatives seeking colonial identity/autonomy and/or platforms for election/re-election. Consistent with this interpretation of the history of rail gauge choice in the Australian colonies, no case was found where rail gauge choice was a function of the disciplined search for the best value-for-money option. -
